Please sign in and sign out. $25 per adult and $15 per junior. Bikes should go out on the trail at 9.30am. Management will come through the gate when the tracks are ready. The weather was pretty good today. We made it right up to the very top of Karamu where you get a view of the whole Waikato basin. The wind was pretty strong but the horses were amazing.
Not many places you can trek and get a view like this. Mt Pirongia in all its glory, the ponies having a little fern snack on the way, crossing little streams and traversing some slippery slopes.
2 great rides with happy people who enjoyed themselves. Let's do it all again tomorrow 😊
As of June the 1st we are making some changes to the way things are run.
Hopefully some of these things will help improve the trekking.
We are making a change to the BYO horse policy for the interim which will now mean if you want to bring your own horse, you will have to accompany a trek.
I know this will disappoint our regulars but for now at least we need to make the change. If over time we can see a way to allow people to go out on their own I will let you know asap.
If you would like a guide, depending if one is available it maybe arranged, I will have to check on that.
And of course if you can get a group together of BYO riders then we can definitely accommodate that.
I will continue to update you as changes are made and we thank everyone for their support 🙏 😊
We started out a little foggy but when we got to the top the sun was shining and it turned out to be a perfect day for a trek.
It was a very calm peaceful ride. One of the trekkers took some pictures for us which is rare but kind of cool to have pictures of us too.
We got some good feedback for the day, everyone was laughing and smiling which is what we aim for.

Welcome to Karamu Trail Track est 2020. Here is a video of a classic horse trek we do. As you can see though there are plenty of other tracks we can take we are not limited to this. Treks are $35 for an hour $45 for 2 hours using our trekking horses. We cater for all levels of riding. If you want to BYO horse then it's only $15 and you are welcome to tag along on our guided trek to get the general outline of the tracks. If you want a specific guided trek with your own horses then contact [email protected] for pricing and availability. We also offer glow worm treks at night for a truly unique experience after dark. Over night camping is only $5 per person if you want to stay over with your horses then again contact [email protected] for pricing and availability. In addition to these amazing treks we do motorbike trails every second Sunday. The next being the weekend of the 13th of February. It's $20 for adults $10 for children. The beautiful Pebbles who had the white Clydesdale foal last March is now slowly being bought back into work. Great to get her out and about and build some muscles while her foal gets use to the separation. Don't worry he is in good hands with his stepfather Star. Star looks after Karamu while Pebbles is out 🥰. Horses are amazing.

I think General delighted the riders today. No one could believe how small he is but also how great he was on the trek, keeping up and having Giselle swing on and off and around him. Giselle has done a beautiful job breaking him in, from an unhandled stallion 8 weeks ago to this. Pretty cool 🥰
Happy New Year everyone. We ended 21 exactly how we started 22 on horseback 👍 I hope everyone had a great News Celebration and we all kicked off 2022 doing something we love. Merry Christmas from all of us at Karamu Trail Track 🎄💚. The hay is cut and baled, the weather is mint. We don't trek this side of the farm but here is a quick clip of the paddocks on the Limeworks Loop side 😄. I took a ride with a few of the volunteers today which was nice and we rode our own horses for a change. The trekking horses definitely deserve a few days off before School holidays are in full swing. We hope you enjoy whatever you have planned and will see you all after Christmas. ☃️☀️🎅

We were rained put past weekend but this weekend we were busy busy. Spring is in the air as our peacock flock expands 💙 Check them out. Hard to see till the end and I missed the big Male with the beautiful tail but got the young ones and one of the beautiful white hens 😍
Regardless of conditions we have been busy over the school holidays. We have had big groups, lots of families and all sorts coming through. School holidays are almost over but we are always open on the weekend and for groups of 5 or more during the week. Message [email protected] 😊
Well we got 2 treks in yesterday and got right up the very top but not too much to see with the day being so cloudy and wet. Today once again the weather isn't playing ball fingers crossed its all go next weekend 😊

We have had some seriously misty weather this week but it hasn't stopped us. Just sad not to see the beautiful view from the top but fun nonetheless

Happy mother's day everyone. I spent lunchtime getting close to Philly 🥰. She is a sensitive girl so this is a big thing to have her just standing with Me. The boys have done a great job getting her use to everything 💜
We really do have beautiful horses 😍. Here they are coming in for a group booking on Friday. Don't forget you can book a ride during the week if you get a group together. It will cost a minimum of $200 which covers up to 5 people for 2 hours and then $40 per person after that. Totally worth getting a group organized when this Autumn has been so mild 😊
About 3 weeks ago we rescued 4 ponies that were unhandled running on a big block. They had a friend of ours spending time and effort feeding them up and rehoming them so we took 4 and started working with them. The 2 boys have been gelded now, they had their shots, wormed, had their hooves done and been handled daily 😊. Here is a quick clip of Vee working with the young gelding we named bones due to where he came from and how bad he was when they found him. He is the most nervous of all the ponies. He has come a long way 🤎. Doing a lot of ground work so the transition to ridden is smooth 🤠.
4 seasons in one day at the moment 😊 still we have some decent size treks going out and school holidays are on so come join us on our beautiful farm and check out the views 😍💜
