DUCKS FOR ADOPTION

Meet Cheese and Quackers, two beautiful ducks looking for their forever home. Cheese, the whiter one, is of unknown age, while Quackers, the blacker one, is around 6 months old. Unfortunately, they were dumped in terrible condition, but thanks to an amazing friend, they've made a remarkable recovery and are now thriving.

Although they're still shy, they've come a long way in their journey to trust people. They'll now happily approach you within a meter, which is a huge breakthrough. They're still learning about baths, but their unique personalities shine through.

Due to them being related and the number of ducks already in need of homes, we're looking for a forever home where they won't be bred. Any potential owner must be committed to providing a safe and loving environment without exploiting them for ducklings or meat.

OPPS

I thought I'd sworn off rats for a while after losing my last little ones this year, but life had other plans. A neighbor asked for my help with a tiny baby rat that had been brought into her clinic - eyes still closed, scared, and in need of care. I couldn't say no, knowing most people don't want a wild rat, (even if he's adorable)
Mow he's opening his eyes, eating like a champ, and thriving. I'm not sure what the future holds, and finding him a permanent home won't be easy, but for now, he's safe, warm, fed, and happy.

We've got some amazing reptiles looking for their forever homes.

- 2 leopard geckos
- 1 juvenile blue-tongue
- 2 juvenile water dragons
- 1 bearded dragon
- 2 adult water dragons

Some of our friends need microchipping, but we're on it! We'll get them ready for their new homes in no time. Can't post photos right now for some reason, but trust us, they're stunning! If you're interested, send us a PM and let's find these cuties their perfect matches!

ALL DONE!

The 2025 Pet & Animal Expo's has come to a close, and I'm beaming with gratitude. Massive thanks to Sophie, Dylan, and Fraya for their incredible help at the stall - I couldn't have done it without you guys! I'm so thankful for friends like you who go above and beyond.

Huge thanks also to my father-in-law Mike for transporting everything to and from the expo in record time - you're a legend! And to Forage NZ , Auckland Cavy Care , Pet.kiwi and Saving Hope Foundation , it was an absolute pleasure seeing you all and hearing your kind words. Your support and encouragement mean everything to me, especially in an industry where I often feel overlooked. It's moments like these that remind me why I do what I do, and I'm so grateful for the love and support.

I had such an amazing time meeting all the incredible people who came to visit us at the expo. It was wonderful sharing our passion for animals and seeing the excitement on people's faces when they met our reptile friends. To everyone who stopped by, thank you for your enthusiasm and interest - it truly made my weekend!

Thank you to my partner Liam for holding the fort at home and caring for all the animals we didn't bring. Sorry again for missing our anniversary (again 😆) - but it was worth it to share our passion with so many amazing people.

And to everyone who supported us through purchases or donations, thank you so much! Your kindness helps us help more animals in need, and I'm truly grateful. If you've got any photos from the weekend, please share 😊. I'm already looking forward to next year!

WOW, WHAT A DAY!
We wrapped up an incredible first day at the 2025
Pet & Animal Expo's !
We met so many amazing people, rescues, and companies - and our animal ambassadors absolutely stole the show! Freddy the water dragon was a total charmer (nail trim = no scratches😉), Zemo the blue-tongue skink was a cuddle bug, and Sticky the gecko snuggled up and snoozed in my hand. I'm so proud of them.

Can't wait for day two and meeting more awesome people! See you all tomorrow!

Meet Our Newest Additions! ❤️

Today, we welcomed two adorable baby blue-tongued skinks to our rescue! These little ones were literally seconds from being frozen to death, but thanks to the quick thinking of our friends at ZooVentures - Pets & Exotic Animals. Workshops / Parties / Events , they're now safe and sound with us.

Someone had handed them over to ZooVentures with the chilling intention of them being frozen, but our friends stepped in and saved their lives. We're grateful for their intervention!

The lighter-colored baby has a spinal deformity, which we'll be monitoring closely to ensure he can eat, walk, and thrive. His brother, on the other hand, is a healthy and happy little guy with gorgeous colors!

We're looking for name suggestions for these brothers! Do you have any ideas for the perfect names? Let us know in the comments below!
The healthy brother will be available for adoption once he's passed all checks and microchipped

Why I Keep Going 🐢

Opening a rescue isn't for the faint of heart. There have been times this year when the struggles felt overwhelming, and I even considered throwing in the towel.
But every time I look into the eyes of the animals in need, I'm reminded of why I started this journey.

Seeing animals like Tequila (formerly Bluey) thrive in their new homes is the greatest reward. Photos like this one, sent by her new mum, makes me so happy.
It's moments like these that make all the hard work worth it.

Auckland Pet Expo 2025, let's go! 🐾

We're stoked to announce we're back for our third year at the Pet Expo at ASB Showgrounds on September 20th & 21st! This year's expo is shaping up to be bigger and better, with more of our amazing scaly friends joining us, including Freddy the water dragon!
We'll be sharing our stall with the awesome Exoticare VN , and you won't want to miss us – we're right at the entrance, Stall 1!
