Willow Estate is an equestrian dream in Warkworth offering grazing and agistment, floodlit arena, round pen, stables and cross country courses.

Willow Equestrian Estate, located a few minutes from Warkworth and 40 minutes from Auckland is an equestrian dream, offering full riding facilities including a 40x40 floodlit jumping arena, cross country courses ranging from pre-intro to novice, round pen, stables, under cover tack up area and plenty more. We are open to customers coming up for the day, grazing here short term, and do have limited spaces for long term grazing. We also offer holiday boarding.

Our youngster Elvis (he will be two in Dec) got to have a bit of training this morning with the amazing Jess Roberts. His first time in the arena and being led off Hagen’s horse Ladder - our dogs were there, Hagen was busy on the tractor and he handled it all so well. Next he was introduced to the hoof ball and an umbrella. He was so accepting of both so I will expose him to more when my broken bones are healed so we can get him to cowboy challenge in Summer. If you have a young horse you are welcome to bring it to Willow to show it different things - spend time in the round pen and arena or leading it down drive. We have tyres to stand on, wooden bridge to walk over, cones, flags, and a barking dog 😁

We were lucky enough to have David Collette at Willow on Friday giving lessons to local riders. The jumps will be left set up if anyone wants to come here for a jump practice while the sun is still out. We have just had the arena surface topped up with EQ3 sand and we are all loving it.

If any locals have flooded paddocks and want to move their horses somewhere drier before the next rain we have a few paddocks available.

We had a lovely group Willow hack this evening when it was a bit cooler. It was another scorcher of a day - we are almost looking forward to rain again 😁

Willow grazers all got together for a pre Christmas arena ride with lots of pony swaps then a hack in the x country, followed by nibbles and some entertaining entertainment from Holly and Anna 😁 Wishing everyone a safe and relaxing break and hoping for a bit less rain so we can ride more!

After Saturday’s crazy bouts of heavy rain we thought we better have a group hack in the morning while the sun was shining. This is the first hack out for Arthur the little ginger who took the lead. He is being started here by Jess and he couldn’t have been better behaved (unlike Ladder who had a few dorky moments)

Such a beautiful morning for pole clinic with Kim Beasley. There was a bit of Spring in a few of the ponies to start with but all finished the lesson very well behaved. These lessons are always relaxed and lots of fun. So glad spring has finally sprung and looking forward to lots more riding.

Just a reminder our arena charge is $20 for EACH horse and rider for up to an hour (it was increased in Oct last year) As a very small business with the need to spend quite a bit on upkeep we have had to make this small increase. This includes use of arena, round pen, x country when ground conditions allow, hacking around property etc. Please also remember to clean up after your horse - pick up pooh in arena, on the drive and at tie up areas. Clean up/rake up all hay in pens, on drive by your float etc. Please don’t bring your dogs- our pets sometimes get harassed and we are not liking having to clean up what they leave behind. Please send a message if you would like to book in for a ride. 😊

Kim Beazley's kids pole clinic is on again at Willow on Sunday 10am - these are lots of fun and a good workout. Please let her know if your child is coming

We had a Xmas treasure hunt at Willow on Sunday followed by drinks and snacks with grazers in our new house. Our awesome grazer Jess organised the hunt and prize for best dressed. It was lots of fun for the girls and so nice to have a catch up with our wonderful grazers.

We are open again! Bring your ponies for a ride/lesson in the arena and have a hack around (x country isn’t open yet till it drys out more). We will put covid tracker on the tree next to arena so please everyone scan it when here and sanitiser on arena table. Please tie up your horses at your floats and don’t use our wash down. As a very small business with the need to spend quite a bit on upkeep we have had to increase our facility charge for each horse and rider to $20 for an hour. This includes use of arena, round pen, x country when ground conditions allow, hacking around property etc. Send us a message if you would like to book in for a ride. We look forward to seeing some familiar faces here - at a distance of course 😊
