Rosie is a gorgeous, 18 week old, female, Labrador X Heading X Boxer.

Good with dogs: Yes.
Good with cats: Unknown.
Good with stock: Unknown.
Good with children: Yes.

Rosie’s foster writes:

Rosie is a sweet and adventurous puppy who loves to explore new things. She enjoys walks, car rides, trips to the beach and playing in the pond.

While Rosie enjoys her exercise, she is a true cuddle bug at home. She loves to snuggle with her foster family on the couch or curl up next to her canine companion for an afternoon nap.

Rosie is happy to play independently or with other dogs. This means that she'd be content as an only dog or a member of a pack.

Rosie is progressing well with her sit, down and wait techniques. She is toilet trained and sleeps soundlessly through the night in her crate.

During her time in foster care, Rosie has attended multiple public events with Chance 4 Change. This has exposed her to many new environments, sounds and people. It's easy to see why she's such a well-rounded, puppy!

Rosie is fantastic with children and would thrive in an active family who loves outdoor adventures.

Good with stock: Yes.
Good with children: Yes, above 7 is preferred as he may accidentally knock smaller kids.

Zorrow’s foster writes:

He's not huge on water, but doesn't mind running around it while everyone else swims. He likes a big comfortable bed atthe end offthe day to relax on. Zorrow makes quick friends with all animals including cats.

Zorrow is low-medium level energy wise. He was not make a good running buddy, but fancies nice walks along the beach or river. He does need to work on having perfectrecall allthe time. Friends are irresistible!

Zorrow knows sit, come, loose leash walking, house manners (toilet trained, doesn't steal off the bench) and doesn't chews furniture. He's working on down and holding a longer stay. He's also working on bed command. Zorrow is comfortable in a large crate at night, and is used to a kennel outside for a few hours a day.

Zorrow only barks when someone arrives to the property.

Zorrow's ideal home would have someone home a lot, or he could go to work with most days. Otherwise a doggy pal during the day would also suit.

Max is a super happy and gentle, 2 year old, male, Kelpie X Staffy.

Good with dogs: Yes.
Good with cats: Unknown.
Good with stock: Unknown.
Good with children: Yes.

Max’s foster writes:

Max will greet you with his unique happy dance—wiggling his whole body and flashing his huge smile! He is a friendly and gentle boy who absolutely loves attention and will quickly become your loyal companion.

Max is fantastic in the car, happily settling into his soft crate for the ride. He enjoys going on walks and meeting new friends is his absolute favorite activity! He also loves a good game of fetch and will impress you with his leaping, bounding, and pouncing on his toys.

This smart pup is both crate trained and toilet trained. Max is slowly learning basic commands and is eager to keep improving.

Max has a medium energy level—he’s happy to relax and nap on his own but would also enjoy the company of another dog. He strikes the perfect balance between playfulness and chill time.

Max would thrive in a loving home where he gets plenty of attention. He’s great with children and people of all ages due to his gentle nature. Since he can get bored when left alone for long periods, having a furry friend to keep him company would be ideal. High fences are a must to keep this clever boy safe. Max is a sweetheart who is patiently waiting for a family to love!

2 weeks ago we were contacted by Bilbo’s Dogpaws Rescue about 6, 4 week old puppies who needed to come into care. Their mother had a large litter and was struggling to meet all the puppies' needs.

Unfortunately, like most rescues Bilbo’s Dogpaws Rescue was at capacity. We agreed to take in the puppies, however Whakatane is a long way from Wellington…

We made a call to a beautiful family who had recently adopted one of our puppies. They drove the puppies from Tauranga to Cambridge for us to meet one of the committee members' daughters who drove them from there to Upper Hutt - (with a long detour as the desert road was closed).

The Rottie, Australian Shepard x puppies are now 6 weeks old and looking for generous sponsors…

TESSA HAS LEFT THE BUILDING....!!!!🐾🧡

Happy New Year....!!!! 🧡 I know I’m a bit late to the party, but this year has already taken off at full speed and feels like it’s spiraling out of control in the best way possible. The main reason for my whirlwind start to the year is that I’m stepping into an exciting new chapter of my life - one that’s both exciting and time-consuming. While I might be a little quieter here until mid-year, I promise to pop in whenever there’s truly exciting news to share

I would also love to take this moment to thank you for your support, encouragement, and patience as I navigate this busy season

As we step further into this year, I hope it brings you everything your heart desires - happiness, health, success, and joy. Here's to new adventures, fresh opportunities, and plenty of reasons to celebrate with your furries. Cheers to an amazing New Year ahead 🧡🧡🧡

Moose is a playful, 16 week old, male, Huntaway X Labrador X Heading.

Good with dogs: Yes.
Good with cats: Yes.
Good with stock: Unknown.
Good with children: Older children preferred.

Moose’s foster writes:

Moose is a playful, energetic and intelligent big little pup who has endless amounts of energy! Moose is incredibly smart and in his short time in foster care he has learnt sit, down, wait, touch and shake!

He loves learning new tricks, playing with and chewing his toys, and treats! Once he has warmed up to other dogs he loves playing with them.

Moose is fully toilet trained and is currently being crate trained. He sleeps easily through the night in his crate.

Moose is a highly intelligent puppy who would be great as a working/agility dog. His ideal home would be experienced dog owners, preferably without young children as he likes to jump up on people (although is slowly growing out of this habit!) and is currently teething so can be quite nippy. Moose has a lot of energy and needs someone who has the time and expertise to continue teaching him good boundaries and good habits.

He’s a handsome little cutie and with the right training and discipline he will become the most amazing, loyal best friend!

After leaving the pound and landing on their feet in amazing foster homes, these puppies are looking for sponsors.

CAN YOU HELP?

Their fosters write:

Red Collar:
Red Collar is a sweet girl who loves to snuggle. She comes when called and is learning sit. She loves carrying around her toys, especially her ball and playing with them. She is very playful and has herding instincts. She learns by watching her fur sibling. We are in love with her!

Brown Collar:
Brown Collar is an energetic pup who loves to play, either by himself or with someone. After play and exploring he’ll snuggle in and nap next to you or lay on the floor in the sun. He has a high food drive which is great for training and is eager to show off his new skills to get a treat. Toilet training is progressing well, along with his commands for sit, down, place, touch, and paw.

Green Collar:
Green Collar has a beautiful calm temperament and bonds easily. He really enjoys company and has kind and nurturing qualities. He’s first on the scene when one of our girls hurts themselves and wants to make sure they are okay. Green Collar loves his toys and enjoys a good game of fetch and roll around in the garden. He is very intelligent and has mastered a couple of basic commands so far and is in the process of learning some more.

Black Collar:
Black Collar is an independent boy who loves being outside just as much as he loves cuddles. He tries herding our cat and listens when she tells him no. He is a little bit nervous around loud car noises but recovers quickly. He loves meeting new people and playing tug of war with his foster fur brother.
