: This is the endemic Bundok Flycatcher, formerly called Snowy-browed Flycatcher.

Bundok is the Tagalog term for mountain, and fittingly, this endemic is restricted only to high elevation mountains of the Philippines.

For our and our series on , we have here a digiscoped Philippine Pitta.

Formerly lumped together with Red-bellied Pitta, new studies elevated the Philippine population to a distinct endemic species now called Philippine Pitta, Erythropitta erythrogaster. This stunning jewel ranges all over the Philippines and can be found in a wider range of habitats.

: This Blue-winged Pitta is a very rare migrant to the Philippines. The last record for this bird was in 1907 in Basilan, southern Philippines. This individual is from Liptong Woodland in Bacong, Valencia, Negros Oriental in the forest owned and maintained by Eti Rene Vendiola and has become a major attraction for Philippine birders. It even got the attention of mainstream news and has been featured in the front page of a major newspaper.
