🎄Pony Group Christmas Breakup 🎄
We had a very fun and festive time yesterday at break up. Love seeing all the riders from different groups helping each other and how much they have improved since last break up!
We even had a visit from Santa Lucie and reindeer Larry who handed out awesome gifts to all our riders.

Ribbons were handed out for the games placings, the winning gingerbread house group received gift vouchers and we gave out certificates to those that passed pony group and nzpca certificates and a great improvement certificate to one rider from each group.

Meet Flicka!

Flick has recently joined the team and will be here for a few months while her rider is out exploring the world!

This means it's a win win! Flicka stays in work and gets new experiences and learning, while we get a new pony for a few months that our riders can learn from!

You will find Flick with our advanced riders, getting used to the environment and being ridden by new people.

She is only 7yrs old, therefore we have to think about her education too. While she has lots to teach, she will also learn habits quickly and get confused if ridden by beginners consistently.

So how do we make sure she gets the best experience while here?
-she is only ridden by our advanced riders currently as she is new.
-she gets semi regular schooling sessions to keep her knowledge up to date.
- When she branches out to the intermediate riders it will be slowly, making sure each rider she gets paired with is a good match.
- and like every horse here, her experiences include hacking out, obstacles, games, ground work, dressage and jumping to keep life interesting.

Holiday pony group
16th of January 10-11.30am - $50

This group is suited to beginners and advanced beginners (not yet cantering)

A great chance to get a taste of what our pony group sessions are like or get some extra learning in before term one if your a regular!

Our pony group sessions are where riders learn in a small group environment, covering topics like caring for horses, how they communicate, how we handle them, safety, riding skills, confidence, team work and more.

We have been running pony groups for over five years and have a combined 15+ years coaching experience, pretty amazing school ponies and facilities that allow riders to learn in and out of the arena regularly.

The importance of Positive Language in the horse world.

Most of us learnt early on the importance of describing words, how our words can change a story and evoke specific feelings in our audience.
When talking about horses, we have to remember that they don't have an understanding of good vs bad. Therefore they don't have the ability to do things with the purpose of being bad.

Often misunderstood by the fact that they do have the ability to learn what behaviors are met with what consequences/rewards. Which can create behaviors that get misconstrued as 'bad'.

SUMMER HOLIDAY CAMPS
1 Junior camp, 1 senior 5 day and 2 3 day camps.
Something for all levels!!

Junior camp - 9am 23rd- 11am 24th December
This camp is suitable for all ages and levels however is based at a fun junior level focused on games and fun activities. (This is merged with our full day on the 23rd and 2 hour morning program on the 24th)
Age guide of 6+
$200

5 day senior camp - 9am 7- 5pm 11th January
riders need to be capable walk, trot, canter and jumping 60cm+
There will also be ridden lessons, theory, fun and other camp activities.
10-18
$550

3 day show camp - 9am 13th- 5pm 15th January
Riders need to be capable of walk, trot by themselves minimum.
Riders take part in lessons and learning preparing for the camp show on the last day of their camp.
8-18
$360

3 day summer fun camp - 22-24th January
Riders need to be capable of walk, trot by themselves minimum.
This camp is focused on summer fun, activities and low pressure.
8-18
$360

Staying overnight is optional. If you don't want to stay the night you are welcome to go home and come back the next morning.

We have an awesome team of school ponies we use for camp or you can bring your own horse/pony.

This afternoon we held our inhouse Jump competition!

We saw some lovely combinations who all did a wonderful job with so much support for each other and praise to their ponies.

For some this was their first jumping competition with lots of new experiences, for others this was a good opportunity to put their skills to the test in front of others.

Riding in a competition environment can be nerve wrecking for any rider. Our inhouse shows help build their confidence so when they get out to big shows it can feel less like a giant leap! It is also a great way to show their progress, socialize and have some extra fun with the ponies.

So proud of all our riders and ponies, a big thank you to all our students and parents who make these events so awesome.

Junior camp
9am 23rd-11am 24th December

This camp is suitable for all ages and levels however is based at a fun junior level focused on games and fun activities.

A great chance to get the kids out of the house so you can get some last minute Christmas shopping. wrapping done!

This is merged with our full day on the 23rd and 2 hour morning program on the 24th. A fun sleepover at the farm with lots of learning, games and ponies!
