Here at Littleriver our main focus is providing quality education to riders to help them progress and achieve their goals. As well as having happy, healthy and well rounded horses.

Yesterday was our last full day program of the Winter holidays.

Our theme for our lucky last day was training!

Did you know that any time we're around horses, we're training them? Horses are always learning and training skills are needed by every rider, big and small!

Yesterday the rider's learnt a range of important skills, from recognizing horse's body language in photos and making a collage, to how to communicate on the ground around a course, to how to use clicker training to teach a horse to target.

We also had a ridden scavenger hunt out in the paddocks and around the track before ungearing and riding them back to their paddocks on the covers.

A huge shoutout to our wonderful helpers, our amazing ponies and all the kids who attended (and their parents for bringing them)!

Our holiday program today was barn buddy themed!

We started the day feeding some of the horses before we got our ponies ready and moved into an amazing race.
Rider's worked in teams to complete different activities, from riding out in the paddock, cleaning a saddle, folding a rug, tying a quick release knot and more.
It's such a great way for the kids to learn different skills.
The afternoon was filled with painting poles, plaiting, washing Dusty and other fun barn chores.
We also had the vet in for a couple of horses today, the kids asked some great questions about what the vet was doing and learnt some new facts.

We had a blast yesterday at our first full day program this holidays.

The theme was obstacles.
In the morning, after some games we grabbed our ponies and worked together to groom them and gear them up.
The the kids got to ride through a fun obstacle course, working on their communication with their pony. During the morning we also played some pony bingo and they created their very own obstacle course with clay!
After lunch we picked some watercress for the ponies and went for a walk to say hi to them all.
Then to finish the day we worked together to create a human obstacle course and each rider got to run through it as fast as possible, with our winner earning themselves a pretty cool prize!

A great way to introduce your kids to horses, get some extra pony time in the holidays or build up your skills in a different environment from regular lessons.

The final day of Winter camp. ❄️

We are always a little sad to say goodbye to our wonderful campers, it was a wicked three days with a great group and great weather.
Yesterday we had a photo scavenger hunt next door and some float loading practice. We had some great learning discussions throughout the morning and finished up the day with try not to laugh before packing up and feeding all the ponies.

Yesterday was day two of our Winter camp. ❄️

After feeding the ponies (and the children) we starting the day with an amazing race. Our riders raced through a range of activities like filling a bucket of water while riding, putting a bridle together, folding a rug, jumping jumps and more.

After lunch we split into theory groups, learning how to worm a pony, how to clip and how to stride out jump lines.
After dinner we surprised the kids with a rock, paper, scissors battle on horses under the arena lights.

A super fun day and a great group of kids.

We had a great first day of Winter camp!

Our theme is working student, which means lots of learning and building skills.
Today we washed some ponies, discussed prepping a pony to clip (who we will clip tomorrow), discussed different pieces of gear and how they work, fed the horses, rode and played games, designed barns, rescued an escape artist pony who was in the wrong paddock and lots more!

We're ending the day with a movie and a some happy and tired kids.

I've brought my pony to stay there for school holiday camps several times now and we are always welcomed warmly and treated so kindly. TODDLER PONY PROGRAM
3rd of July and 12th of July 10-11am

This program is an opportunity for those under 6yrs to come have fun at the farm with a parent or caregiver.
Some activities we may do include grooming horses, farm walk, pony ride, colouring the ponies and more.

$45 per child per day
(Or $40 per day per child if you book for both days)

Littleriver Equestrian’s main focus is providing lesson's suitable for all ages, either here on one of our quiet ponies or on your own pony.

We can also travel to you so that you can learn on your pony at your own home. Our aim is to make sure your children get to experience ponies in a safe, caring and fun environment. Set in and around our American style barn for an authentic country feel. We have many years experience in working with children and animals.
