π BONDED BROFURS 𧑠ALFIE & RENO π
If your home needs two gorgeous house panthers, these boys are for you! π»
Alfie and Reno thrive in each otherβs company, and they are inseparable best friends. We are searching for a loving family with the time and patience to help this delightful duo blossom.
Alfie is a friendly explorer with a passion for food and is always on the lookout for crunchy toys to chase. He enjoys engaging with his humans on his own terms, making every interaction special.
Reno, on the other hand, is a bundle of energy with a love for playful string toys. Though he may appear shy and values his personal space, he warms up to those who respect his boundaries. He prefers to take the initiative when it comes to approaching people, and a tasty treat is the quickest way to win him over!
They enjoy being together and are closely bonded. Being stray born, they are shy of strangers and will take a while to warm up, however, once they feel comfortable, their affectionate bond truly shines.
If you're ready to welcome these two into your home, you'll be rewarded with endless joy and companionship!
Born mid February, the boys are in Pauatahanui for a meet n greet. If you'd like to meet them please fill in our adoption application form: https://form.jotform.com/240831194278056
π²300 adoption fee includes desex, 1st vaccine + booster, microchip + registration, flea and wormed, house and litter trained.

The hardest part of rescue is making difficult decisions :( It's not easy making tough calls for the beautiful souls that can't speak.
Chip is FIV, incontinent as his tailbone is not attached to the spine from a previous car injury, will deal with lifelong UTI's, and he still needs his teeth fixed and tail amputated. There's no cure for incontinence as the nerves are damaged, and unless an experienced person expresses his bladder twice a day it's an extremely uncomfortable life.
As no one has stepped up for his care, and it's not necessarily a fair life for Chip, we have a Rainbow Bridge appointment on Monday morning :'( π I'm all setup in his room to spend as much time as I can with him.
It's not fair because Chip doesn't deserve to die, but he also doesn't deserve to love in constant pain and discomfort :( Life can be so cruel π
π MISS AMY πΊ
Meet Amy, the adorable kitten whoβs sure to steal your heart! Brimming with "tortitude," this delightful little lady is eager to find her forever home with a loving family.
Amy is not just confident and friendly; she's also a bundle of joy and energy! You'll often find her having a blast with her foster brother, racing around the house in playful zoomies.
But don't be fooled by her playful anticsβwhen it's time to relax, she knows just where to go! Amy loves to curl up in a cozy lap, purring contentedly as she snuggles in for some well-deserved cuddle time. If you're ready for endless love and laughter, Amy is the perfect match for you!
Amy would suit most homes. Great with cats and dogs, good with children.
Born May 2024, Amy is in Wallaceville, Upper Hutt. If you'd like to meet her please fill in our adoption application form: https://form.jotform.com/240831194278056

This is a huge deal as itβs extremely hard to get in the top 10 to receive a large grant, so a vote used wisely this weekend will result in actual money going to the rescue you vote forβΌοΈ
If you have never voted before, a vote for Rachel's KittyCat Rescue would be much appreciated. Alternatively, Feral Nation is another excellent choice!
Thanks all β€οΈ Your support is greatly appreciated.
β οΈ URGENT CARE NEEDED β οΈ
Would anyone consider taking Chip on?
You'll need vet or vet nurse skills (ex or current) in expressing his bladder / colon twice a day. I'm more than happy to pay for his vet upkeep if someone with a big heart is able to take on Chip as their own π
I want to do absolutely everything I can for Chip, but sadly we are not in a position to :( As well as FIV, Chip will likely have lifelong UTI's, and he still needs his teeth fixed and tail amputated.
It's not a life we can provide for our sweet boy :( Neither can other rescues. We've been to 2 different vets with the same likely outcome. But if you can, I'm open to chatting.
Please, anyone?! :'( Chip deserves the world as he is the absolute sweetest thing in it. Otherwise I'm afraid a hard decision will need to be made as we just can't upkeep his needs. Is it a fair ongoing life? You tell me :'(
We are beyond heartbroken to say the least. π I'm so sorry Chip.
It's another night of heavy rain and potential thunderstorms ahead βοΈ
Take care all π For anxious pets we find relaxing cat music on YouTube helpful.

To help stop the problem at its core we're offering to desex YOUR Mum Cat for FREE - but only if the entire litter of kittens are 100% surrendered to us (when old enough).
We understand and empathize that not everyone can afford vet bills or the basic desexing costs, which is where our offer comes into play β€οΈ If you've got a Mum Cat that needs desexing we can help to desex her for free if her kittens are surrendered to us.
Mumma Cats can get pregnant instantly after birth, so if you can keep Mum and babies safely indoors during this time we can take on the kittens at 6-8 weeks old (when fully weaned and eating wet food) and then organize desexing Mum Cat for you. If not, we can potentially babysit Mum Cat for you at our expense and return her desexed.

The updated Taita colony of 10-15 cats is a huge joint effort πͺ These are just some of the clowder.
Thank you to Upper Hutt Animal Rescue Society Inc. for stepping up to help π I wouldn't be able to help these cats alone.
I'm also waiting to hear from the SPCA and HUHA to see how much more we can help and find space for these cats. Even if the majority are FIV positive, these are friendly abandoned strays that deserve a second chance regardless.

ADOPTED!! π©΅ π€© MISS SQUEAK π₯° π©·
Squeak is looking for a loveable furever family.
Squeak was the smallest in her litter, but donβt let that fool you, she has a big personality and a big purr to go with it.
If you are looking for a kitty who loves playtime but also needs a lap to curl up on, Squeak is looking for you! Playtime is high energy which leads to long lap time naps β so be prepared to be βtrappedβ on the sofa while she re-energises.
Raised in a foster home with her litter sister and other kittens, cats and a Beagle, Squeak is a confident young girl.
16 weeks old, Squeak is in Whitby with her sister Bubble for a meet n greet. If you'd like to meet her please fill in our adoption form here: https://form.jotform.com/240831194278056

Bubble is looking for a fun loving furever family. π₯°
Bubble is a gorgeous little girl who loves high energy play time β play tunnels, ping pong balls, soft play toys, chasing wand toys, laser dots, running around with her sister (and other foster kitties) β you name it, she loves to play!
She also loves a warm cosy place to curl up, preferably in the sun or in bed with her people. Bubble has been fostered with a friendly Beagle who βhelpsβ the foster parents with all the little ones.

So I'm afraid we're not having the best start to the continued Taita colony.
Positive FIV tests are spreading like wildfire and it seems the majority of these cats have Feline Immunodeficiency - especially the males.
FIV is my jam πͺ But unfortunately it has a bad stigma and most are scared of it due to more myths than facts. FIV simply means the cat has a lowered immune system so morally they should be kept indoors only, but they can live long happy lives too. They can also be around other non FIV cats just fine - especially because the majority of FIV cats only have half of their teeth so the chances of spreading it through a deep bite wound is greatly lessened.
FIV cats are extremely difficult to re-home due to this :( They deserve just as much as a non FIV cat, but sadly most people overlook and don't offer them a forever home.
Gaston here (we're enjoying the Beauty and Beast theme π
) is FIV and also needs some dental work. This boy is approx 3 years old and you can see he's been let down and is emotionally withdrawn π It's heartbreaking because he's a true sweetheart, but he has a lot of healing to do physically and mentally.
Knowing that FIV is rife in the area we're reaching out to UHARS, HUHA and likely the SPCA for help as there are at least 15 cats total that need urgent help :( Due to a severe lack of resources and long term dedicated foster care we cannot inundate ourselves with anymore than 3 FIV cats at a time, and with 2 currently in care we're lined up with 5 already :'( It's not a good predicament to be in, we desperately need help!

Just look at this distinguished Gentleman! π΄οΈ
Welcome to the RR team #51 Mr Chip π Aptly named after the chipped teacup in Beauty and the Beast.
We're back up and rescuing again in Taita - not that we've yet finished π
But the cats of Reynolds and High St are spreading themselves out!
Wonder woman Janette Soutar has already caught a few cats - including Chip the Tabby & White 2 year old who's at our HQ.
Valley Cottage Vets have been working with us and they have 2 friendly strays, a Black Tom and a Tuxedo Tom on stray hold being desexed and FIV tested before they come to us.
There are still several more cats and whilst we're not in a good financial position to help, y'all know I find it hard to say no, especially to friendly cats. We need your help π

Myla is the sweetest little honey bee π― She's come so far in our care that we'll soon be looking for her forever home π Her head tilt is still apparent and something she will always have, where the slight wobbles only show when she's stressed. She'll need a strictly indoors only home π‘ She's good with other cats but wouldn't mind being a solo cat soaking up all the love.
KittyCat Rehoming Wairarapa started in January 2017. The SPCA in the Wairarapa closed in 2015 and left a big gap in animal welfare in the area. Originally the group came into existence to rehome stray and abandoned cats, rehome cats for owners in difficult circumstances and tame feral kittens. KRW rehomed 33 cats and kittens in 2017 and 35 in 2018. Now that the SPCA in Masterton is open again and are looking after stray, abandoned and surrendered cats, KRW is concentrating on taming feral kittens and finding homes for them.
By taking in feral kittens and desexing the parents, KRW helps control the feral cat population and keep cats away from our wildlife. This decreases the feral cat population in a humane manner and not only improves the welfare of the cats, but of the environment as a whole.
Feral kittens are fostered by a network of foster carers until they can be adopted. Whether a kitten can be tamed is dependent on their age and temperament. The optimum age to tame a feral kitten is 8 weeks and under. Older kittens can be successfully tamed depending on their individual temperament but once they reach 16 weeks of age it becomes very difficult. It can take months of care before a kitten is ready to adopt.
Our adoption fee for kittens is $140. This helps cover the costs of desexing, vaccinating and treating for parasites. We also offer reduced rates to adopters for microchipping.
KittyCat Rehoming Wairarapa is registered Charitable Trust CC54963.
