Very sad day here, I spent the night cuddling Pippa and telling her how much I loved her.... This morning we had one last van ride together to the vets where she was helped over the rainbow Bridge..... 8years young but cancer won..... It had spread to her lymph nodes...... She was my side kick, the bestest rat catcher and bed buddy.
I was thankful that I had 3 extra months with my girl after the growth on her leg was removed but knew, it was only time.....

Please rescue. It's the most positively significant way to have an impact on the dog in need of a loving home, and It assists the people and agencies who have the dogs' best interest at heart

Some rescues are the easiest, most straightforward placements. Some rescues are the most challenging placements

Evy (Wayby) had night terrors for a few years when we first offered her a home

She has worked through so much of the hard stuff and has been supported and loved the whole way

I think she's finally realising she has a home and a family that love her, and that helps her love us all in return

Happy Sunday, sorry I haven't posted, just too much on my plate. Firstly Honey Belle decided as she was feeling so much better to escape isolation and be a real dog... I have given Bravecto to all other dogs here which covers mites and fleas for 3 months, at a huge cost but a necessity.

A lovely gentleman has paid for Honey Belles food for 2 weeks as with all the natural ingredients and goodness she needs the cost is around $90 a week.... I was so grateful to this lovely person.

Many thanks to everyone that donates....to the Vet account and the Longacres Animal Haven food and cleaning supplies account, it's a massive help to me to keep going as I am struggling to pay my rates at present.... Hence I am holding a Garage Sale next weekend..
Saturday 14th 8am till 3pm
Sunday 15th 9am till ??
Then the following weekend if need be....

I am finally selling my treasures and some kind people are donating quality items to sell for Longacres. All proceeds after rates are paid goes to the animals here and also with my community desexing I am doing.....

When I said yesterday was busy then just talked about gorgeous wee Honey Belle my mange girl....... I should have added the rest of the day......
Usually I am on the phone answering questions and replying to all your lovely supportive comments. Thats after all kitty litter trays have been cleaned and filled and all mumma cats and kittens fed.

Then onto feeding the dogs and the outside cats, chooks and chicks.... That's another story... Check on the horses and water the garden too if needed....

Talk to vet each day to organise cat desexing for community cats, latest one is from Leigh...... Happy to help those who financially just can't pay the cost... That's where all you amazing people come into my life and do wonders by gifting money for vet bills and food and cleaning supplies.

Not only did Honey Belle arrive yesterday afternoon after a long drive through many road works but another car arrived at the same time, with a lovely couple and their 6 sebastopol geese...from Kerikeri.. Mum and dad and 4 goslings...... They are so cute, got them settled and then worked on Honey Belle.... Not much sleep last night just checking on her and she was such a good girl.....

Today is another busy day..... May have to go buy rubbish bags as dogs had another party last night and those bags are no longer able to contain kitty litter..... Snowbee on the couch was not involved as she was asleep on my bed...... Have a great day

So today has been a busy one, I can show you my little Honey Belle, she is bout 15 weeks old and was saved off a street by an angel..... This sweet girl just gives me waggly tail and kisses, she has been to the vet and is treated for mange and skin infections, no owner came forward which is a good thing. She has just had a treatment bath and was such a good girl then smothered head to toes in Source Salve.... I might need some more Wendy McCarthy......

So she needs healing vibes from you all please....... And when anyone says to me.... But you weren't taking in more dogs..... Yeah right this girl needed me and I am soooo glad she is here away from the hell she came from.

So it's my birthday, the big 60th....woop woop, as most of you know I do nothing for myself, I put everything everyday into helping animals... So yesterday I actually got my hair cut.... That's a big thing for me as I usually take the kitchen scissors to my ponytail... So having half an hour of pamper was lovely.
Yesterday was hectic, picking up teenage kittens from one owner as she has no car and getting her babies desexed and microchipped and delivered safely back to her.... I return she surprised me with the MOST STUNNING quilt, all my favourite colours, I just cried.... I have been told I m not good at accepting gifts for myself.... I would agree.... Got another cat desexed and she is still here awaiting her mumma to collect her today, plus I got 2 more teenage kittens in to be desexed and rehomed.

So this morning started with my gorgeous friend at the gate 7.30am with a delish coffee and muffin from her amazing coffee business Wazzas and a stunning card and a beauty voucher.... Another thing I don't do for myself...

Then onto feeding kittens and mumma and cleaning kitty litter trays... Birthday surprise, Minnie Mouse that came in last week has had 4 gorgeous kittens this morning... Well done mumma.

Yesterday another awesome friend picked up my van from Silverdale and dropped it back at mechanics, my van is fixed.... YIPEE just another transmission flush and she is good to go. Thankfully I can pay that bill off... Massive shout out to Auto Services Wellsford and Nigel Hawkes Towing Wellsford and Kaspa Transmissions Silverdale..... So thrilled to get my van back.... Hopefully Friday I can load with dogs and hit the beach.

I have a sad case coming in this afternoon, photos later. Sweet girl pup.... Watch this space.... So as for birthday I am heading out to lunch in between feeding animals and getting dog to vets.....
