✨BREED HIGHLIGHT ✨
Meet Aroha the Anatolian Shepherd, Ancient Guardians of Anatolia, Turkey.
They are one of the oldest dog breeds, with roots tracing back to the Babylonian Empire
(2000 BC).
These gorgeous dogs were Bred to protect livestock from predators like bears, wolves, and leopards.
Their agility and speed, unexpected for a dog of their size, are attributed to sighthound ancestry as you can see by Aroha’s ninja like speedy moves.
With a special mention oh her handsome big brother, Pasha the Anatolian Shepherd and German Shepherd cross.
We are so happy and honoured to have these two back for a stay with us all the way from their home in South Island!

*Update* Indie has been found and is well - reunited with her owner ♥️

There was an accident just north of us last night. The young girl’s dog jumped out of the car and ran off.

Please take a look at the photo below and keep an eye out. If you see this dog or have any information, pleae get in touch – we have her sister’s phone number and can pass it on.

Let’s all band together as the doggy army we are 🐾

Our caturday cat this week is... 😺Apollo🐟

The sweetest little ginger boy with the loudest purr you can hear throughout the cattery. He was shy on his first day but has come out of his shell and lapping up all the love.

🐾 Puppy Zoomies & Life Lessons 🐾
We love giving our puppies the chance to have good zoom around with each other and burn off that puppy energy, it’s good fun and great for confidence! 💨🐶

We also like to balance this out and pair them with calm, social mentors as part of the day — and today Rigby and Eli stepped up to show the young ones how it’s done 🧡🎓

Dogs learn a lot from each other, things like reading body language, setting boundaries, and how to play politely. And of course, one of our handlers is always there to help guide the way too 🐾✨

How we keep your pooch’s warm and toasty in this sweater weather.

* First up, you guessed it, sweaters!! We have an expansive wardrobe on hand to fit all shapes and sizes.
* If you’re after that perfect fit we welcome you to bring your dogs own personal PJ’s and robes.
* An endless supply of bedding!! Big ones, small ones, fluffy ones, fleecey ones. You name it, we got it and your pups love to snuggle up in them.
* We check bedding multiple times a day to make sure everything is clean, dry and meeting tip top cozy standards. Well even fluff the pillows for them. With our on-site laundry room running constantly to make sure we always have extras available for swapping out.
* Sleeping quarters in each kennel are specifically designed to shield from the wind and help accumulate body warmth.
* Thoroughly drying off your dog after each adventure to beat any chill that may creep in once the bouncing around outside stops.
* We now also offer bone broth as an extra on the menu! We are happy to add a warm cuppa to their dinner to boost warmth from within. Like a doggie cup of tea or Milo!

🌟 Dog of the Week: Ash 🌟

This legend loves nothing more than a good ute surf — riding in the back like he owns the road 🚙💨

He’d 100% sell his soul for a treat (and probably has… more than once )

Ash has also been doing his bit helping out with some of the newbies this week, showing them the ropes and being the cool, calm and collected 🐾

Seeing quadruple at the kennels today!

Since we have 4 very handsome miniature schnauzer's staying with us a breed highlight was in order!

This intelligent and loyal breed comes in 3 sizes, miniature, standard and giant, with the giant variety reaching over 40kgs!

They originated in Germany in the 15th century as farm guards and rat catchers making them excellent little hunters. Known for their distinctive beard and eyebrows, the name "schnauzer" means "snout" or "moustache".

These two have grown so much since the first time they stayed with us; their confidence has grown exponentially, and their personalities shine through. They always offer a snuggle, and love to climb the fun furniture in their room.

This little crew brings good company, fun energy, and makes our days brighter 🌌🐾

Sassy and Chacha are always the life of the party – full of energy, sass, and sparkle! ✨
Jax, the handsome new guy on the block, has fit in like a natural. He’s quickly figured out when it’s time for zoomies and when it’s time to chill with the littlies crew 🐕

A special shout-out to their awesome mum who’s always tagging us on the community pages 💫🙌we love it 🙌💫

🥇Dog of the Week goes to Tama 🥰

This week's top dog was Tama for mastering the art of having a blast with his friends and knowing when to take a break!
He did also bribe staff with some extra attention.
