🐰Easter and Anzac Opening Hours🐰

We will be closed tomorrow for Good Friday, as well as Easter Monday and Anzac Day.
If you have an emergency or require urgent veterinary assistance, please contact the Christchurch Afterhours Veterinary Clinic on 03 3661052. They are located at 146 Antigua Street Addington, with the entrance off Disraeli Street.

With the Easter season also comes lots of Chocolate, which is toxic to cats and dogs. Please keep an extra close eye on your pets and keep the chocolate out of their reach!

🐶 Meet King 🐶

King the Blue Heeler has a wonderful owner who has Muzzle trained him for his vet visits, to keep him and everyone around him safe as he can be a bit anxious! Pictured is King with one of our amazing nurses having cuddles after his procedure. 🥰

We are very grateful to owners that muzzle train their anxious dogs, as it creates a safer environment.

🐶 FOUND DOG 🐶

*UPDATE: OWNER FOUND*

We have had a Female Bearded Collie, roughly around 4-7 years old dropped in to us this morning. She has a black collar with a small brown polka dot bow attached and no council tags or microchip. She was found in the Dawsons Road area and was standing on the road, around 10:30am this morning.

The council has been contacted and is on their way, if you think she could be yours please call us ASAP on 033474546.

We have had a lost dog dropped off to us this afternoon! He was found running around on Weedons Ross Road.

He is a small white (potentially) a Maltese/Shih tzu/ Bichon Frise dog that is wearing a brown/cream jumper and blue collar. If anyone thinks he may be theirs please call the clinic on 033474546. 🐶

🎄TOXIC FOODS AND PANCREATITIS CASES 🎄

As we come into the holiday season, we are seeing more cases of Pancreatitis and toxicity. Please remember to be careful what foods your pets have access to as our pets cannot process fatty foods the way that we can! If left untreated these can be fatal.

Warning signs of Pancreatitis can include vomiting, inappetence, lethargy, rapid or abnormal breathing, painful stomach area.

If you are concerned about your pet's wellbeing, please don't hesitate to contact us.

🌾Grass Seed Season is here! 🌾

Recently we have been seeing multiple grass seed cases daily. Wishing Bert a speedy recovery after the grass seed was removed from his eye!

Please make sure you are checking your animals eyes, ears, nose and feet (especially between toes!) for any grass seeds.

We are able to remove grass seeds from the most difficult spaces such as nose with our specialised endoscope.

🐓🐐🐖 Canterbury Anniversary Weekend Hours 🐑🏇🐄

We are closed tomorrow the 15th November for Canterbury Anniversary weekend.

We are open from 9am-12pm on Saturday the 16th and closed on Sunday the 17th.
We reopen to normal hours from 8am on Monday the 18th November.

🐢Found Turtle 🐢

We have had a lost turtle that has been dropped in to the clinic. The turtle was found on Halkett Road. The turtle is on its way to Turtle Rescue for care until the owners are found.
