Wow, it’s hard to believe it’s already been a year since we took over what was once Menagerie Boarding Kennels & Cattery and transformed it into Canine & Co! 😮The past 12 months have been a whirlwind. We rebranded as Canine & Co, launched The Social Club, and revitalized the old paddocks with new fencing and shelters to create two spacious areas, growing from just 12 dogs to 64 dogs over four days! 🐕 Our team has expanded from 3 to 7, and we completed the renovation of the old sheds, giving us a much larger reception area. We saved and rehomed Tama and Hemi with amazing families ❤️ We also opened The Grooming Studio by Canine & Co and welcomed Gill to the team in what used to be the old office. We’re proud to have become stockists of Roar and can’t wait to introduce even more exciting products soon. We have welcomed Oliver into the crew 👶 (he’ll officially be on the payroll soon, ready to check in your furry friends 😉). Canine & Co wouldn’t be where it is today without some well-deserved thanks 🙏 First, a huge thank you to both our families, who spend countless weekends working hard—whether it’s building the new office block, helping in The Grooming Studio, maintaining the paddocks, or keeping up with general property maintenance. Your support has been invaluable. A massive shoutout to our incredible Canine & Co team 🐾 They keep everything running smoothly when Daniel and I take a break, and their care for your animals is second to none. We truly believe we have some of the best staff out there, and our business wouldn’t operate as seamlessly without their dedication. Finally, a big thank you to our amazing customers! Your continued support means the world to us—entrusting us with your pets, always stopping by for a chat and catch-up. Our business wouldn’t thrive without you, and we’re so grateful for your loyalty! 🥰 It’s been an incredible journey, and we can’t wait to see what

🐾 Ever wonder why your dog loves to dig holes? Here are some fascinating reasons you might not know: 🐾Natural Instincts & Comfort: Dogs have inherited this behavior from their wild ancestors who dug to create safe, comfortable resting places. This digging instinct helps them find cooler spots in the summer and warmer spots in the winter, providing natural temperature control. 🐾Burying Treasures: Your pup might be an expert at hiding things! Dogs often dig to bury toys, bones, or treats. This behavior dates back to when they needed to protect their food from scavengers. Fun fact: Dogs have been known to return to their buried treasures days, weeks, or even months later! 🦴 🐾Mental Stimulation & Anxiety Relief: Digging can be a sign of boredom or anxiety. Dogs dig to entertain themselves and to burn off excess energy. Providing plenty of exercise and mental stimulation can help reduce this behavior. Did you know? Some dogs dig to create a ‘den’ for themselves, mimicking their wild instincts to create a safe haven. Understanding why your dog digs can help you manage this behavior and ensure they’re happy and healthy 🐶❤️ #dogsdigging #dogsdiggingholes #digging #dogs #dogstagram #happydogs #dogsocialization #nzdogs #dogowners
