Long time no post…
Also not a post I had ever planned on making as this doesn’t need attention because this is exactly what they wanted. But 2 years ago I was struggling to make ends meet, fighting so hard to keep my passion for horses alive. I had a traumatic brain injury, slowing me down. So I had to find other ways to keep horses in my life. Naturally I fell into rehoming and teaching.
I started this page to help people get a feel for the horses and keep everyone updated as there was old owners, buyers and genuine people wanting to see the progress the horses were making.
Then my passion for photography took off and I was able to give the campers and students memories to take away with them forever by capturing high quality pictures of them riding or hanging with their horses. Family members started following to see their children and children’s children riding horses.
We helped countless horses into new homes suited to them. We rehabbed many, some unfortunately we had to humanly euthanise. Any responsible horse owners know the pain involved with making the hard call.
We helped many students understand their horses and work through issues. Horses are a never ending learning opportunity.
But people were still out to tear us down. I’ve learnt that you cannot please everyone. I actively put myself and my work out there for the world to see. So that does come with criticism and hate unfortunately. I have always had thick skin, but to have death threats, horrible comments and my own personal hate page and a group chat designed to trash me was definitely hard to try and fathom.
I am not a victim of cyber bullying or slander. But I am sharing these as I’m sick of not being able to stand up for the truth and having people tainted against me purely from fake news.
Believe what you want, I cannot control your opinions of me.
But I do beg of you to not believe everything online and to make your own judgements based on your own personal interactions with me instead of going off second hand information.
This post is not to seek validation or to get sympathy. Neither is it a post to give these people what they want (to be heard and seen). But it is to raise awareness. These people even reached out to my students and bullied them for attending my services. I am an adult who understands why people can say and do such horrible things. But to then bring young and impressionable kids into it is a different level of wrong. I can only imagine how hurtful and soul destroying it is. Don’t let these people make horses a hard place to be, don’t let these people online affect you in your real day to day life.
Love to you all 🩷
We have closed, not due to this but due to far bigger and better things.

I’d like to discuss a horse who challenged us, took Leah, Emma and I on a huge journey in our horsemanship and proved everyone wrong. So buckle up cause it was a wild ride. But it’s worth a read:
-
Dottie was given to me as she’d been passed around, landed in the wrong hands a few times (but also had a few kind people help her along the way), was a neglect case and was deemed Dog tucker. With unpredictable behaviour, rearing and flipping on trainers and plenty more. I just want to know what they were doing to make such a gentle souled horse react so negatively?
-
The day I announced that Dottie had arrived in my care I was bombarded with messages saying she was dangerous, she had hurt a lot of people, trainers had refused her and so on. I thought “gosh I’ve made a mistake taking this horse on, let alone how I was going to rehome her…if ever”.
-
She was reactive, spooky, shut down but she was also willing to learn, she wanted to understand. She wanted to enjoy her life. It took dedication, consistency and installing a lot of confidence in her. We worked so hard and boy oh boy did she reward us. Not only did she find the best owner and rider she stole the hearts of many and has truely redeemed herself. Her race name is “Miss Represent” and that’s exactly what she was, Miss represented.
-
She is out competing, she can be ridden entirely tackless, she’s a teenage girls best friend, she’s found her place in life. I just wanted to share her story again because she is a great example “Dog tucker, turned Unicorn”! 🩷 We love you Dottie.

We have 1 grazing space available as of the 29/01/24.
There are a few requirements:
- Mares and geldings only
- must be seen to every second day at the least. I’m not wanting someone who just dumps their horse on me.
- must be a ridden horse. We are not a turn out grazing.
- will most likely need hard feed as we are on sand country.
- must get along with the other grazers well.
We are 5 minutes from Castlecliff beach and 5 minutes from the Castlecliff family riding club. We are a herd grazing so you’ll need to be okay with that. We have jumps, tack shed and float parking. $30 a week

Free lease opportunity!! 🐴
Felix, 12 year old, Hong Kong tb.
He is available to an adult/young adult who wants to have some fun! Require an intermediate to experienced rider. He’s an on-site lease so you don’t have to worry about finding grazing. I’ll be there to help out too! He’d suit any discipline and has participated in mostly everything! A dressage or flat class rider, or someone just wanting to gallop around on the hills or beach (we are a 5 minute walk from the beach) and would love the CTR life. He floats well and is easy to handle on the ground. Good on his own or in a group. There are other people to ride with and he comes with all his tack. I provide everything and organise all the upkeep. You are financially responsible for everything to maintain him (grazing, feed, farrier, etc) but pay no fee to lease him.
Located Wanganui.
This can be long term or 6 months.
Would be awesome for show season!
He’s currently out of work but I’m happy to bring him back in 😊
Please only get in touch if you are serious.

Our Roamy is officially on the market, she’s one cool and uncomplicated pony! Here’s her ad:
Project Unicorn looking for a fun loving home! 🩷
Roamy is a northland bush bred pony. She stands around 13.2hh but is still growing. She’s around 3/4 years old. She had a foal at foot when first mustered. 4 months out of the wild and has since been broken in.
She’s ready for her next big adventure. Remember she is green and inexperienced. She has been the quietest and most sensible pony to handle.
With more time and effort she’s going to be an amazing pony club pony, trekking pony, farm/ bush pony or all rounder. She truly is capable of anything. She’s already shown talent in jumping as she jumped out of my wooden 1.10m gate 🦄

Felix is the most successful racehorse we’ve had come through L.A Horsemanship. It’s so impressive to see his heritage. Knowing this boy has been around the globe never ceases to amaze me. I’m proud to have him in my team and be able to give him a happy retirement (from racing, he is still in work). I am so happy he enjoys his days with a herd and roaming 8 acres. He deserves it! 🩷🏇
A rather chaotic video of one of the many ways we “kid proof” our horses 😂🫢 #horsetraining #lessonhorse #ridinginstructor #equestrian #bombproofinghorses #desensitizationtraining #lessonbarn #offthetrackthoroughbred
5 Things like to teach my horses! 👩🎓 My apologies for the descriptions being tiny and the quality being ruined that’s Instagram! I’ve added a more detailed description of each below👇 - 1. Sending/ lunging. I use this for so many different things. Like sending a horse over a new obstacle. Or even as a negative reinforcement. Also for some boundary setting and spatial awareness. - 2. Backing up. Super useful in all situations. I also use it as a personal space reminder. Great for suppleness and muscle building. - 3. Flexion. For lightness and softness in the bridle/ halter! - 4. Move that body and mind. Great for young horses or busy brains. Just gets their minds and body thinking and working. Great and easy puzzle for them to work out! Makes teaching flexion a lot easier too. Also great for rope desensitisation. - 5. Moving the hind and shoulders. I use this for placement of the horse on the ground and under saddle. Makes life a lot easier! Can also lead to side passing and other cool tricks. As well as acts as a safety precaution. - If you guys are interested in a more depth version and a how to video of each step let us know in the comments 😊
Heres the Spring Camp 2022 🌸🦄 Video of which I forgot to post on here. So I thought now would be a good time to get everyone excited for the camps and programmes coming up for these holidays! Whoop whoop 😆
