(41)

We currently have 3 stallions serving at stud. With 4th 13.2hh stallion joining us in 2017

Galaxy Pourewa is a northern bred thirty-something year old who stands at 15hh that is the sire or grandsire of almost every horse on the property. He is still producing foals at his grand old age and also has a busy life of babysitting the youngsters out in the back paddock and teaching them some manners,

and this is the main reason our ponies are so well behaved and respectful. Pourewa is currently available through natural serving only. Galaxy Spring Fever is a 10 year old 14.2hh (147cm LC) bay and white by Pourewa & been with us since 2007. He was bred by the Becconsalls in Te Puke and was out of Jordyn's GP mare Spring Brooke. Jack is a lovely horse to have around and if you didn't know he was a stallion you would never pick it, he has the kindest nature but the best personality, both of which he passes onto his offspring. Galaxy Magician a 4 yr old dark bay tobiano by Spring Fever out of G. Has movement rarely seen in a pony with his father's "look at me" attitude & jumping ability. Is available by frozen semen only.

Happy mothers day to the most deserving and beautiful baby horse mother iv ever had. Pumpkin ( Ginger Crunch ) from HOY showhunter champion with Laura Lush to mother of many stunning foals for me. Pumpkin was along with her life partner Pourewa foster mum to 2 foals, one she actually produced milk and fed. Pumpkin is rising 33 years old and is still taking care of baby horses whenever necessary. Currently she is weaning Toi Toi the filly foal of "Guess once More". Toi Toi basically attached herself to Pumpkin from about 2 months old so weaning has been so much easier.... Love you Pumpkin and for all you have done for me and my foals over the years πŸ’•πŸ’•πŸ’•πŸ’•

Just been advised that GALAXY POUNAMU ( PJ ) My pride and joy the c**t i bred with such purpose to replace Pourewa and the LAST POUREWA C**T EVER , who was sold in good faith to someone i thought i could trust to keep these bloodlines alive .. IS TO BE GELDED AND SOLD.......... I am beyond devastated and feel betrayed and tricked . This means the end, the end of a bloodline that could have continued on forever. IT is the End of my dreams

If anyone is in the market for a very very special Stallion then please get in touch with his owners.......

GALAXY DREAM MASTER..
6 Year old Stallion. By Galaxy Pourewa Sire of Galaxy Masterpiece, Premier GP pony (pictured)
Dam Babylon ( TB by Columbia) dam of another Premier GP pony "The Dreamer - by Spring Fever ( the freakish bay pinto pictured)
Dream Master was purpose bred from the bloodlines of both these outstanding Galaxy ponies to breed what i considered a perfect jumping machine, however he outgrew pony height.
He has spent his time when not breeding working as a shepherds hack on steep hill country farms where no special treatment was given him due to his gender.
He happily worked alongside mares and geldings standing at the tie ups and even floating with mares,a complete gentleman just like his dad.
He has a good number of foals on the ground and can be paddock run or hand served.
No formal jumping training as yet but he is ready to start that any time now.
Yes hes BAY and yes he is a SMALL hack ( around 15.1 to be confirmed) but his breeding is outstanding and he is one of very few Direct line Pourewa stallions available to the public.
With Pourewa Stallions Spring Fever and Split Decision being late teens / 20s it leaves only one other Pourewa Stallion at stud.
I see a fantastic opportunity whether it be a small Boutique stud breeder or even a hill country farmer with an interest in breeding to take this boy on.
I personally think he would be a real asset to a South Island breeder who would like to add some top Northland/ NZ jumping bloodlines into the mix and be able to offer live service to a kind considerate stallion .
If a breeding home is not able to be found then his owner will reluctantly be gelding him.
He is currently out if work and located central North Island.
PM me if you are seriously intetested in finding out more and i will put you in contact with owner... More pic to come

The kids face at the end is priceless.πŸ’•
HOY finished on a good note for Isla and Spring Fever, not as high up as we would have liked but under the circumstances we were just so so pleased he even managed to jump the first jump let alone get a call back.
Jack had jumped in 2 classes during the week and crashed through the first jump both times, ending with Isla retiring him, plus same thing in the showjumping Equitation class. We had no idea what was wrong, thought it was the tendon he injured while fence chasing mares 😑 hurting, but i wasnt sure nor was Islas mum Erin who is a vet. We had him vetted by the show vets anyway and given the all cleae. We were torn as to start him in title class.
While giving him a walk out and graze the morning of title class he flat refused to go back to his stable. It then hit me out of the blue. The normally filthy manure stained pony whos stable covers are usually covered in stains same as his knees and white patches, was clean as clean and had been all week. We hadnt needed to wash him at all he had been pristine and sparkling.....
Jack had got down and rolled as soon as we put him in the stable when we arrived and got semi cast against the wall. The stables were very small compared to at home...
Jack had not lay down since, Jack was sleep deprived πŸ’€πŸ’€πŸ’€.
His sleeping next to the ringside we just took as him being his normal laid back self.
Yes he jumped the practice jumps... Not because he wanted to but because i was standing there and he would never stop with me there.
Another light bulb moment, the last HOY we went to he was in same box, he refused outright to even go in the ring in both the showhunter title and the working hunter title and he just loves working hunter jumps.
So i hatched a plan and we did enter in the title class. My plan was to change his warm up totally with the focus being in keeping him awake.
So 2 riders before his turn Jack was popped into the empty games area and galloped to the end and back, then trotted straight into the ring, picked up canter as SOON as he hit the ring.... It worked and i do admit for once in my life i actually cried watching him jump. It wasnt pretty but that wonderful little stallion did it, he did it for his kid.
Same plan before the call back and that round was really hard, Isla did everything she could to get him around with one corner where i really thought he was going to bail on her, it was an ugly as corner but she got him to the last jump.. They dropped to 9th place but everyone was delighted not just for the placing in the title class but because we had solved the problem, Jack was not injured nor was he too old and past it.... He was just deprived of sleep and first thing he did when got home was roll and roll and roll and sleep πŸ˜ŠπŸ˜ŠπŸ’€πŸ’€πŸ’€πŸ’€πŸ’€
