While you are out having adventures we are wanting to give your cats an adventure of their own! Lets us introduce ourselves. We are Linda and Nick Rowson, the proud new owners of Cosy Cats Retreat (formerly Fussy Cats). As avid animal lovers it has always been my dream to own a cattery and thought why not bring my husband and 4 kids along for the ride! When the opportunity came to purchase Fussy C

ats, we jumped in with two feet. We are looking forward to making changes over the next few months that will leave your cats feeling like they are in a home away from home. But don't worry we will still be open for Xmas with little to no disruption for all our guests. I come with a wealth of knowledge of animal care and what I don't know I am happy to learn. I have volunteered for Auckland Zoo, Riding for the disabled, farm stays. Worked in large format Pet Stores and currently volunteering at the Whangarei SPCA. I am excited to be able to meet and take care of you and your family.

Hello lovely people! We have had our first cancellation for the holidays so have an enclosure available for 20 December to 5 January. This is an indoor/outdoor enclosure and is $26per night family (2 cats) share. If you are wanting space for just the one fur babe it will be $26. 7night minimum stay applies. We have 1 space up to 26th with am checkout for 2 cats family share and single enclosure from the 30th Dec. if you’d like to book please send us a message 🐾🥰

This weekend marks four years since we moved here and took on this big adventure of being business owners! It has been a learning curve, a lot of hard work, filled with excitment and uncertainty. I can’t say we have always gotten it right but we have always tried our best and are always learning. As long as the cats are happy and cared for, is what matters. Thank you to our family and friends, without you we wouldn’t have achieved as much as we have. Thank you to our wonderful families that keep entrusting us to care for your fur babes, we love them all and it brings us so much joy to see them 🥰🐾 here’s a few pics of where we started and where we are to remind us that we are winning the marathon and the 5 year plan is coming along! Next up for this year decking and play/ enrichment area. 🩵🐾🐈‍⬛🤗

Hello! How is everyone doing? Have you managed to escape these nasty winter bugs that are going around? Our home has been hit hard with 3 out of 4 of us getting the flu and pneumonia 😭 so happy to see some warmer days and the sunshine ☀️ want to do a deep clean on the house once we are all healthy and feeling better!

Hi team, we have just booked our 3rd and final borer treatment yay 🙌 this means our main area is closed from Sunday 22 September to Friday 27th September. Although we dont need to vacate for the week, we like to make sure it has settled and then clean all the surfaces which the cats come into contact with. This means a deep clean 🧼 for us so we need to take our time. Cats that are already booked with us will be moved to our indoor/outdoor area for this period. You are welcome to still book in for the week with your fur babes hanging out in the west wing (as we call it 😉) 🐾🦋
