20 Years of Esmeralda Geisha: A tribute to the Panama Highlands
Thank you for joining us in celebrating the twentieth anniversary since the discovery of the geisha variety.
This years auction highlights the unique biodiversity that thrive alongside Panama Geisha.

BEST OF PANAMA 2024
We have two Geisha washed coffees in the best of Panama 2024 Auction.
Esmeralda Geisha Washed Jaramillo is from our Buenos Aires region and underwent a climate controlled process. Meaning that fermentation was done in our cool fermentation room at 15 C and then transferred to our climate controlled drying room. A beautiful coffee full of florals.
Esmeralda Geisha Washed Cañas Verdes is from our Gigante region. This coffee underwent cool fermentation at 15C and was transferred to our raised beds for drying. Both of our Gigante lots made it to the final table due to the intense florals produced by this region.

We will have two varietals offered in the Best of Panama 2024 auction.
Our anaerobic natural Laurina is from our El Velo farm at 1750 masl. This coffee underwent a cool (15C) anaerobic fermentation in stainless steel tanks. Drying was done in our climate controlled room.
Our traditional natural SL34 is from our Cañas Verdes farm at 1750 masl. A consistently high performing coffee that neighbors our Tumaco region.

Our climate controlled natural from the Gigante region will be in the 2024 Best of Panama Auction as Geisha Natural (GN) 10. The climate controlled natural is dried with humidity and temperature control, along with constant airflow.
The Gigante region starts at 1900 masl, so expect a dense bean and high florality in the cup.

A view of our farm in Jaramillo, our easternmost farm. The air is wet and cool, with temperatures ranging from 11°C to 24°C and an annual rainfall of 4,000 mm. At this farm, Price Peterson noticed the higher resistance of certain coffee trees to the fungus Mycenia citricolor. These coffee trees were an arabica variety called geisha. He picked the beans and planted them in a lot we call Mario. In 2004, the coffee was put into the best of Panamá competition. From there Geisha coffee has made it to the top tier of specialty coffee.
