Stage 2: Six Months to Three Years Kitten Adulthood - From Six Months to Three Years Since a six-month-old kitten is already comparable to a double-digit human child, by the time a cat is one year old, it will have reached its adult size and will usually have established its preferences, habits, etc. A one-year-old cat is physically similar to a 15-year-old person, while a two-year-old cat is like a 24-year-old person. Kittens are usually healthy, but this is a good time to have some basic blood work done to see what is normal for the cat. Occasional grooming, dental cleanings and annual veterinary exams are all necessary to keep an adult cat healthy.
