๐จ Pet Parents, Take Note! ๐จ
Dogs are susceptible to the infectious cancer known as transmissible venereal tumor (TVT). Although mating is the most common way for it to spread, it can also be contracted by licking, sniffing, or intimate contact with an infected dog.
๐ Warning signs you might see:
โ Bleeding or growths near the intimate area
โ Prominent lumps on the face or skin
โ In extreme situations, weakness and weight loss
The good news is that, with the correct veterinary care, TVT can be treated. Don't hesitate to take your dog in for a checkup if you notice any strange lumps or discharge!
