The Power of Praying

Having many dogs in a household could sometimes lead to a dog fight.A common consequence of this is having subconjunctival hemorrage when their eye is accidentally hit.

It's the rainy season! The weather is cold and most of us enjoy the rain. But not only us enjoy the rain. Frogs are most active during this season.

Toad poisoning is widespread during this season. Even dead and dried toads are toxic to our pets.

Toby is brought to the clinic due to unconsciousness, severe salivation, vomiting of blood, and pulmonary edema.

Good thing we have a 24-hour clinic in town. Toby is saved.

Both siblings are now Parvo survivor. 💪

Oftentimes, small breeds have a little chance of parvo virus suvival. This is mainly because of their low amount of blood supply. Our pet’s blood supply is just 8 percent of their body weight. Both siblings weigh below 2 kgs upon confinement. Meaning their total blood supply is less than 200 ml (1 glass). In the case of parvo virus, It involves defecating blood for 4 times or more per day, depleting most of the patient’s blood supply.

Thank God we have a 24 hour monitoring system to increase our pet’s chance against the deadly virus. Visitation is also open for 24 hours.

We may not notice but our dog has two a**l sacs located on both lateral side of the a**s. These glands produces thick and foul smelling oily liquid which our pets use to identify each other and as a territorial marker.

These glands are usually emptied when our pets walk and defecate. But unwanted circumstance like diarrhea where our pet's f***s is too soft to put pressure on the glands leads to impaction of the said gland.

Impaction of the gland could lead to infection and in severe cases abscess of the whole a**s

Here is our patient Lucky with complete recovery from the Abscess. 😊 A non surgical approach was the first choice of treatment. We are very happy that his body responded well to the treatment. 😮
