Philippine history museums have doggos, too! Here's Aduana, the rescued Aspin of the NHCP Museum of Philippine Maritime History and the NHCP Museum of Philippine Economic History, just a few meters apart in Iloilo City. She was saved as a puppy on 13 June 2023 after a staff of the Economic History Museum discovered her with paint stains, probably obtained by the pup from a nearby construction site.
These two museums of the National Historical Commission of the Philippines are her playgrounds. She loves to interact with the museum goers and in return receives treats and dog food donations. However, there was an incident in which she was impounded and mistook as a stray. She was immediately rescued by the NHCP employees. The Iloilo City Veterinary Office spayed her and provided her with vaccines.
Museum-goers may chance upon her either in the Economic History or the Maritime History. In the photo, she is in the second one. We hope more establishments open their doors to stray dogs. Every dog deserves a loving Filipino home.
October is Museums and Galleries Month in the Philippines. Have you seen a catto or a doggo in any Philippine museum or gallery? Comment them down below!
