Case presentation:
According to the owner, Pet was found already given birth to a dead puppy at around 7 in the morning, Owner brought pet in the clinic at 2pm because of dark purulent discharge. The veterinarian did an abdominal palpation and possibly palpated more puppies inside, to confirm diagnosis, owner was advised to subject pet for Xray.
Upon Xray there were 2 puppies still inside, and an incidental finding that the pet has ingested a foreign body.
Pet was subjected to an Emergency Ceasarean and Exploratory Laparotomy.
Upon CS, 2 pups were extracted, both were already dead and in a state of decomposition. The 2nd puppy was underdeveloped.
For Explo Lap, the foreign body was located in the stomach cavity. Gastrotomy was done and a metal chain was extracted.

On October 2023, Pepper showed inappetence and lethargy and was forced fed by her owner, upon check up here in the clinic,
she tested POSITIVE for Ehrlichiosis and Babesiosis. These are blood parasites transmitted by ticks.
We gave her take home medications for 28 days. (Yes, that is how long blood parasite treatment is). And has recovered since.

She visited the clinic today to get her regular tick and flea prevention regimen.

Blood parasite infections are fatal if not treated early.
