7 paralysis ticks found on 1 pet at SASH North Ryde this past week.
1 unfed, 5 partially fed, 1 fully engorged.
This pet was one of many patients presenting with signs of tick paralysis.

Paralysis ticks are deadly to pets.

Although a risk year round, as the warmer weather returns, the number of pets affected by paralysis ticks sky rockets.

Is your pet up-to-date with parasite prevention? Speak to your local vet about the best option based on your pets circumstances. In-conjunction with parasite prevention, remember to perform daily tick searches over your pet by, by running your fingers gently through their fur, from their head to their tail.

Signs of tick paralysis include weakness, incoordination, collapse, vomiting, retching, breathing difficulty and/or change in bark or meow.

These brave boys have just been neutered reason why they’re still at their ‘groggy’ anesthesia recovering state 🫣🙀and aren’t in pain🩷

Ps. NEUTERING (CASTRATION and SPAYING) BRINGS our FURBABIES these many GOOD HEALTH BENEFITS:
1. We give them this chance to live their lives healthy and longer;
2. Spayed females (dogs and cats) are eliminated of their possibilities of having uterine or ovarian problems (such as cancer and potential fatal infection of the uterus);and incidences of prostate cancer and hernias in males; Females will not attrack unwanted males;
3. When neutered, they are less likely to roam and fight, preventing undesirable male behaviors (territorial and sexual aggression is prevented)
4. Litter is prevented: unwanted pregnancy/breeding contributes to problems such as dog biting and attacks. Neutering them will prevent disease transmission since they’ll be less likely to roam and fight.

A furrytale @ EdH's April 9 monthsary!

Miya flexes her caesarean puppies on their first week follow-up visit.

Difficulty in giving birth (whelping) may become serious especially when pups are too large to pass through the mother's birth canal. Prolonged birthing may cause more serious problems and might cause puppy death. Luckilly, Miya's furparents are quick to respond 🤍
Here she is with her 2 healthy and heavy pups at their very first week.🐶
