Mga dapat tandaan para sa mas mataas na hatching rate ng mga itlog:

*Priming ng mga breeding materials o ang paghahanda ng mga materyales bago isalang sa breeding.
1. Siguraduhing malinis ang pugad na paitlugan para hindi mapasok ng bakterya ang mga itlog.
2. Pagkaitlog ng manok, agad kunin ang itlog. Huwag hayaan na ito ay nasa pugad upang hindi mainitan at malimliman ng inahing manok.
3. Piliin ang tamang sukat ng itlog; malinis, makinis, walang basag at walang calcium deposit o yung mga batik batik sa itlog. Lapis lamang ang gamitin sa pagmarka ng mga itlog, maaaring makaapekto sa kalidad ng itlog ang mga tinta ng marker na gagamitin.
4. Linisan ang itlog at huwag hayaang madumihan para hindi pasukin ng bacteria.
Ang maduming itlog ay kalimitang patay na ang semilya. Ang itlog ay lumalabas sa pwet ng manok na kung saan dumadaan din ang ipot nito.
5. Upang mapanatili ang pagiging fresh ng mga itlog: Mainam na balutin ang mga itlog sa malinis na papel/tisyu at ilagay sa chiller. Ang chiller ay ang pinakababa ng ref na pinaglalagyan ng gulay, 14-16 degree celsius ang advisable na temperatura.Kayang tumagal ng hanggang 15araw ng itlog kapag nakaimbak sa chiller. At kung hindi naman ilalagay sa ref ay ilagay sa tray na ang matulis na parte ng itlog ay nasa ibaba at iimbak sa room temperature na lugar o sa lugar na hindi maiinitan. Sa ganito namang paraan kayang tumagal ng hanggang 7araw ng itlog bago isalang sa incubator.

Kapag ang itlog ay nainitan sa kanyang pinagiimbakan ito ay nagsisimula ng maincubate.Kya may mga namamatay na semilya dahil sa pabagobagong temperatura sa paligid nito.
