SPAR Strategic Power for Animal Respondents - Philippines

This sweet and happy doggo is one of the hundreds (if not thousands) displaced animals due to Taal volcano eruption. Rescued alongside Talisay Road last 15th of January and is now very longing to go back home. We are very sure this furry angel has an owner as he is very sociable and loves to play with hoomans! He also knows how to ride and sit by himself at car seats. Can you help us find his way back home?

Hi Guys, our friendly neighborhood MMDA K-9 Corps along with SPAR are calling out for volunteers to help save the animals.

PLEASE CHECK MMDA K-9 Corps PAGE WHICH GROUPS ARE IN OFFICIAL PARTNERSHIP WITH THEM. Let them also know if there are groups and orgs using the group's name and reputation.

Also please don't go directly to the danger zone without coordination to local government or in charge in the area. Call them first so you could be possibly join their briefing and help out properly.

Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board - LTFRB

LTFRB Allows Pets in Public Transport

Quezon City, Philippines-- The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) now allows pet animals in Public Utility Vehicles (PUVs) effective 15 April 2019.

The Board amended a provision in Memorandum Circular No. 2011-004 with MC 2019-019 that now allows pet animals inside Public Utility Vehicles (PUV) provided that the following provisions are met:

1. These animals are put inside carriers/cages and placed at designated animal compartment of the PUV, should there be other passengers inside the PUV.

2. If there are no other passengers, pets may be allowed to be carried by the owner as long as said animals are free from foul odor and that the owner maintains cleanliness and sanitation. Further, the possessor or pet owner shall be responsible for the damage that the pet may cause, including the cleaning and sanitation of the PUV, as may be necessary.

3. Safety, convenience and comfort of the passengers shall not in any way be sacrificed.

Fact Sheet for Pet Owners and Veterinarians about Potential Adverse Events Associated with Isoxazoline Flea and Tick Products

Okay guys, we all read about FDA informing dog owners about tick and flea products and just going to post the direct link from FDA and fast facts since we're seeing other products posted not included in list. Lastly before owners panic, we should ask our vets first.

Fast Facts
• The FDA is alerting pet owners and veterinarians of the potential for neurologic adverse events in dogs and cats when treated with drugs that are in the ISOXAZOLINE class.

• The FDA-approved drugs in this class are Bravecto, Credelio, Nexgard and Simparica. These products are approved for the treatment and prevention of flea infestations, and the treatment and control of tick infestations.

• Although these products can and have been safely used in the majority of dogs and cats, pet owners should consult with their veterinarian to review their patients’ medical histories and determine whether a product in the isoxazoline class is appropriate for their pet.
