We have wonderful news to share! Mango, the sweet dog you helped support this week, has delivered four precious puppies! She handled the process like a pro, and so far, everyone is healthy and thriving. Mango seems so happy in her new role as a mom!

🆘 𝑪𝒂𝒍𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒐𝒏 𝑺𝒖𝒑𝒑𝒐𝒓𝒕 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝑴𝒂𝒏𝒈𝒐 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑯𝒆𝒓 𝑼𝒏𝒃𝒐𝒓𝒏 𝑷𝒖𝒑𝒑𝒊𝒆𝒔 😢🙏🐾

Mango, one of our beloved shelter dogs, is expecting puppies—a surprise that caught us off guard because of our efforts to neuter the male dogs in our shelter and separate the females when in heat (while we wait for discounted appointments for them to be spayed through the LGU vet.) But somehow, Mango managed to find a way to mate and it’s now our job to give her and her puppies the best chance at a healthy, happy future. 🐶

Unfortunately, we recently noticed Mango’s breasts were swollen, so we took her to the vet yesterday. Blood tests revealed she is anemic, dehydrated, and battling an infection. 😢 The initial concern was that her puppies might get “stuck,” requiring an emergency surgery, but thankfully an X-ray showed that she should be able to give birth naturally. However, she may have an infection in her uterus, so she still needs careful monitoring, medication, and follow-up tests.

To ensure Mango and her puppies are safe, Mango has been moved to a foster home with a concerned island neighbor, where she can have a stress-free environment to heal and give birth, away from any shelter bullying. Now, we need your help to cover her growing vet bills, medicines, X-rays, and any unexpected costs.

It was a wonderful day at the shelter yesterday! We were thrilled to welcome Amy Tallis (aka ) all the way from the UK. She found us through the map and brought donations to support our furry residents. But the real highlight? Amy chose to sponsor Sina, one of our long-time shelter dogs! 🎉

🐕 Sina’s Story: Sina came to us from the pound, pregnant and scared. She delivered her puppies the very next morning—the same day she was scheduled to be euthanized. Thanks to our rescue efforts and now Amy’s sponsorship, Sina will finally be able to get spayed and live a happier, healthier life. The two instantly bonded, and Sina couldn’t stop showing off her belly in playful gratitude! 🥰

We are so grateful to Amy, not only for sponsoring Sina but also for offering to help us with some computer work from afar. Your kindness truly knows no bounds!

Meet Pamo, the Survivor 🐕

Many of you have reported seeing Pamo, the dog in Station 3 who moves with a twitch and bobs his head and body as he walks. 🐾 We’re happy to share that this brave boy has already been taken to the vet by , a compassionate tourist who made a real difference during her short time in Boracay. 💕

Pamo has an owner and we learned from her that Pamo was the victim of both animal abuse and a hit and run, leading to his involuntary movements. 🥺

Pamo is currently receiving treatment to get healthier, but he will need lifetime medication to manage his condition. Liliana’s kindness has given Pamo a second chance, but there’s still so much more to do for him and the other dogs in his area.

Donations would help ensure that Pamo and the other mama dog in his household get vaccinated and spayed/neutered. Your support would also help BAARC continue responding to the overwhelming number of daily reports we receive. Together, we can make sure survivors like Pamo live long, happy lives!

🎉 Hero of the Month: Pauline Reitzer 🎉

This December, we honor Pauline Reitzer as BAARC’s Hero of the Month. Without her extraordinary generosity, none of our efforts this past year would have been possible!

Pauline lent us her fenced property rent-free, giving us a safe space to rescue, care for, and love so many dogs in need. She has gone above and beyond, extending her support far beyond what was initially planned while we continue to search for permanent land. Her family has been just as incredible—helping name many of the dogs, showering them with love and belly rubs, and even fostering one of our rescues in their own home. 🐶🏡

Finding affordable land has been a challenge, but Pauline’s kindness has been a lifeline for BAARC. Her generosity and hospitality have given countless animals a second chance at life. 🐕

🌟 A HUGE Thank You to Sally Harrison Kormes!

We are so incredibly grateful to Sally for her amazing support of BAARC and our animals! 🙏🐾 The other week, Sally visited the shelter with her daughter and mother, bringing with them 10kg of rice, 10kg of frozen meat, and three bags of dog food – a generous donation that will go a long way in helping our furry friends! 💖

We are excited to share a heartwarming update about one of our beloved rescues, Pe**er! Pe**er has been with us since our second round of animal rescues from the dog pound in mid-April, and he has always been quite the adventurer. At first, he even managed to escape, and we were so worried because he didn't return to us for so long. Luckily he found his way back to the shelter, but he was in a sad state—underweight, covered in dirt, and frightened of people. Who knows what happened to him... However, thanks to the incredible support from My Boracay Guide and the care of our volunteers, Pe**er’s transformation has been nothing short of remarkable.

Today, Pe**er is thriving. He has become a bouncy and happy dog, greeting us with excitement and kangaroo hops every time we visit. His once fearful demeanor has turned into a joyful spirit, and he absolutely loves all the attention and pats he receives.

With a generous monthly sponsorship from My Boracay Guide, we are able to provide Pe**er with the essential food and medicines he needs for a full year. We are beyond grateful for their support in helping him regain his health and vitality. Thanks to this partnership, Pe**er is now a handsome and healthy dog, well on his way to finding his forever home! See the videos/photos that we have shared here.

🌈 A Heartfelt Goodbye to Sweet Snow 🌈

It breaks our hearts to share that Snow passed away this morning. She was a true fighter, bravely beginning chemotherapy for her TVT cancer on November 7th. But the treatment took its toll. She grew so weak, lost her appetite, and struggled with constant nausea. Despite all efforts, her body just couldn’t hold on.

Through it all, Snow had her loving caretaker, JP, by her side every step of the way. JP is grieving deeply for the sweet girl who brought so much light and love into their life.

We’re also incredibly grateful to Dr. Deyven and his team, who made a special journey to Nabaoy shelter to care for Snow in her final days, even crossing rivers to reach her. Their kindness means the world to us, and we’re certain Snow felt their warmth and compassion.

Please keep JP in your thoughts as they navigate this loss. Snow’s memory will live on with us, inspiring us to keep helping dogs in need of a little extra love.

This October, we honor JP, the devoted caretaker of 45 dogs at the Nabaoy shelter. 🥳 🐶 💕

Every day at 6 AM, JP awakens to cook for the animals. They start a fire, mix rice with meat scraps, and patiently tend to the pot for two to three hours. While the food cools, JP takes on chores or journeys to town for supplies—dog food, rice, vitamins—anything the shelter needs.

Once the food is ready, JP combines the warm rice and chicken with water and dry kibble, making several heavy trips to feed the dogs, who eagerly devour every bite. Afterward, JP ensures each dog receives their vitamins, then cleans their area, scrubbing and disinfecting the shelter they built with their partner. It’s a beautiful home where the dogs feel safe and loved. 🏡 💛

Despite limited resources, JP does everything possible to care for the animals. They get these dogs necessary vet care, regular deworming and anti-rabies vaccinations. BAARC supports these dogs financially but JP does all the heavy lifting.

This work is not easy. It takes a lot of physical and emotional strength to care for an animal shelter every day. To make matters worse, JP recently battled Dengue Fever and spent five days in the hospital. Now back home, they face a mountain of shelter tasks with unwavering dedication.

📣𝐂𝐀𝐋𝐋𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐅𝐎𝐑 𝐇𝐄𝐋𝐏 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐟𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐟𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐬! We are asking for assistance in raising ₱𝟓,𝟔𝟗𝟎 to settle two vet bills we recently incurred: One is for a stray dog, 𝐁𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐧, who like many others, roams the streets of Boracay looking for food, water and friendship. 🐕 Our volunteer saw him on her way to rescue a puppy and took Brown to Roldan Vet. 𝐁𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐧 𝐡𝐚𝐝 𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐛𝐚𝐝 𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞, 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐢𝐧𝐟𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐟𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐬, 𝐬𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐚𝐧𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐜. 𝐁𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐧 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐝 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐟𝐥𝐞𝐚 & 𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐤 𝐬𝐩𝐫𝐚𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐦𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐚𝐧𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐚 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐞 𝐚𝐝𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐚𝐭 𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐡𝐨𝐦𝐞. Sometimes a little treatment for fleas, ticks and mange can go a long way to help a suffering animal. ❤️ The other bill is for a 𝐩𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐲 who was reported to us in an urgent state 🥺 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐲 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐰𝐞𝐚𝐤 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐜𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐢𝐧 𝐡𝐮𝐠𝐞 𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐬. She was brought to Roldan Veterinary Clinic Boracay where her ticks and fleas were removed. Her CBC results were very bad and she stayed overnight on an IV to receive supportive care. 𝐔𝐧𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐮𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐲 𝐬𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐲 𝐰𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐞 𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐯𝐞𝐭. 😔 She lived a very short and difficult life, one that we intended to make better, but at least now she is no longer suffering 🌈 🥺 𝐖𝐞 𝐚𝐫
