Here are some tips to ensure your pets' safety during a typhoon:

BEFORE the Typhoon:

🐾Emergency Kit: Prepare an emergency kit for your pets, including food, water, medications, first-aid supplies, and a carrier.
🐾Identification: Make sure your pets have updated ID tags and microchips.
🐾Evacuation Plan: Have a plan for evacuating your pets, including a designated carrier or crate.
🐾Safe Room: Identify a safe, interior room where you and your pets can shelter during the storm.

DURING the Typhoon:

🐾Stay Calm: Your pets can sense your anxiety, so try to remain calm and reassure them.
🐾Keep Them Indoors: Bring all pets indoors and place them in a secure, quiet location away from windows.
🐾Provide Comfort: Offer comfort items like blankets, toys, or pheromone sprays to reduce stress.
🐾Monitor Water and Food: Ensure they have access to fresh water and food.

AFTER the Typhoon:

🐾Check for Injuries: Inspect your pets for any injuries and seek veterinary care if needed.
🐾Monitor for Stress: Be aware of signs of stress, such as excessive barking, hiding, or changes in appetite.
🐾Clean Up Safely: Clean up any debris or hazardous materials that may pose a risk to your pets.
🐾Return to Normal Routine Gradually: Help your pets adjust to their normal routine by providing consistent care and attention.

Remember: Early preparation and a calm demeanor can help ensure the safety and well-being of your pets during a typhoon.

What do we have here???!!!

🐓A c**k! A fighting c**k!! And it got bumblefoot.

Bumblefoot is a painful foot condition caused by pressure sores or infections. It can significantly impact a fighting c**k's performance and well-being.

So the treatment plan we did after assessing the problem, is that we soaked the foot in water with iodine, cleansed it and found the wound site. Drained the pus, sprayed with mild antiseptic solution as well as ointment and dressed the wound with vet wrap.

Preventative Measures for this condition includes:

✅Proper Flooring: Provide a soft and comfortable surface for your c**k to stand on, avoiding hard or abrasive materials that can contribute to bumblefoot.
✅Regular Foot Care: Conduct routine foot inspections and clean any dirt or debris from the soles.
✅Balanced Diet: A nutritious diet can help maintain overall foot health and reduce the risk of bumblefoot.
✅Avoid Overcrowding: Ensure your c**k has adequate space to move around and avoid overcrowding, which can increase pressure on the feet.

Meet Dr. Zherwin Acosta, a Filipino veterinarian who has been a technical official for all Equestrian Disciplines (Eventing, Dressage and Jumping) in the Olympic Games in Beijing 2008, Tokyo 2020 and now, in Paris 2024.
