The PVMA R10 Family sends its felicitations to our VP and 2024 Convention chairperson, Dr. Shanny A. Cunado, DPCCP.

Dr. Cunado, fondly called by her friends and colleagues as Doc Shanny, has been practicing companion animal medicine and surgery since 2015. Because of her passion for canine medicine and surgery, she regularly joins seminars and trainings here and abroad. This drive makes her a dynamic vet who dedicates her life in the improvement of the canine practice. At the same time, she always manages to juggle her roles being a mother, a friend, a daughter, and a lover.

She is originally from Gingoog City, Misamis Oriental. Currently, she is working as the senior veterinarian of Pet Matters Animal Clinic at Butuan City where she attends to numerous clinical cases on a daily basis. This continuous exposure to clinical cases makes her accumulate a trove of knowledge and experiences that she happily shares with her colleagues.

With summer already here, it's important for pet owners to be aware of the signs and symptoms of heat stroke in dogs. If left untreated, heat stroke can quickly progress and become more severe, leading to death. The early signs of heat stroke in dogs may include some or all of the following symptoms:

- High body temperature
- Restlessness or agitation
- Excessive panting or difficulty breathing
- Drooling, often with thick saliva

If you notice any of these symptoms in your dog, it's important to take immediate action to cool them down and seek veterinary care as soon as possible!
