Alhamdulillah. Al-Raffy does it again!

His research, Chirpify, won the AWESOME PAPER AWARD at Analog Devices, Inc.'s 2024 Academe Expo, competing against some of the country's most prestigious universities!

Raffy's research, also started a wave of interdisciplinary approach to research as his pioneering work will be further developed collaboratively with the Department of Computer Engineering and Mechatronics (COE) and Biological Sciences (CSM).

🌿 Research Highlights 🦗
- Developed a low-cost, energy-efficient system to identify insect sounds, focusing on Orthoptera species like grasshoppers and crickets which aids in scaling insect biodiversity assessments and conservation efforts.
- Could also be used to identify Orthoptera species that are harmful to crops, serving as an early warning tool for farmers to protect their fields from potential pests.

Last July 11, QBO Innovation visited MSU-IIT for the AQADEMY Campus Tour (ACT), a youth startup forum designed to raise awareness and inspire Filipino youth to engage in the country's growing startup ecosystem. We had the opportunity to speak and interact with aspiring technopreneurs during the event.

Additionally, we participated in the Startup Ecosystem Mapping initiative, which aims to identify and map the available support for startups in Iligan. This effort promotes collaboration among like-minded agencies, highlights key resources, and addresses the challenges faced by startup founders. We also explored potential solutions that startup enablers can implement to help alleviate these issues.
