This is probably one of the worst Parvoviral case we have encountered at the clinic. Parvoviral disease in puppies is a complicated disease resulting in severe dehydration from diarrhea & vomiting, lethargy, anemia and immune depression.

Parvovirus also causes bleeding and massive inflammation of the intestinal linings. In a more severe case, a thinning of the gut. Eventually it got a lot more complicated due to patient history of ticks and thus the possibility of a tick borne disease. This can cause anemia too and low platelets which promotes more bleeding.

In this case, the patient defecated a portion of the intestine. No further tests or examination were performed due to patient conditions. The owner also decided to pull out from confinement. Unfortunately the patient did not make it.

When you get pets, visit the vet for advice. Professional advice will cost you but it's worth it. Prevention is still better than cure.

Canine Parvoviral infection, some make it some don't. It's always a 50-50, it's infectious among puppies with high mortality.

Have them vaccinated for prevention.
