OMG, Cagayan de Oro is going FULL BOOM this New Year's with fireworks!

Pet's would probably think it's a monster invasion. 😂
Seriously though, let's keep our furry friends safe. Here are some tips:
1. Create a safe, quiet den for them (think comfy bed, blankets, favorite toys).
2. Turn on some calming music or white noise.
3. Keep them indoors, away from the noise.
4. If they get really anxious, consult your vet about calming aids. Let's make it a happy, safe New Year for everyone!

‼️STRAY CAT “ARROW” IMPALED ON FALL; NEEDS SURGERY‼️

Two nights ago, one of our volunteers heard strange noices at the back of their residence and found a painful sight of a stray cat imapled on one of the gate’s spiked fencing.

Initially thought to have no life, the residents approached Arrow to find him with labored breathing. The spike had pierced his left hind limb while his body sprawled around the spikes. When they saw that he was alive, they tried freeing him from his predicament. However, the cat turned ferocious and would not let anyone touch him. Getting Arrow out turned out to be longer because they had to sow off the spike head.

After an hour of hardwork, Arrow was put in to the crate and was licking handful of wetfood. He was rushed to Whimsy Vets Pet Care and examined by Dr. Keeno Ian Avelino Moralde.

Good news was no vital organs were pierced by the gate spikes. However, he needed to be sedated so the wound could be sutured and Arrrow would be neutered.

We thank the veterinary team at Whimsy for accommodating Arrow immediately, yet we are knocking at your hearts for the following cost:

* Arrow’s impalement surgery
* Neuter
* Antibiotics
* IV
* Food during admission
* 4-in-1 vaccine (once advisable)

Arrow has been so kind and sweet during admission. We are looking for a loving home who can take him in. For now, he is still admitted at Whimsy and you may visit him there during recovery.

This predicament is one of the many dangers when a stray cat is freeroaming and not fixed. Arrow was on the roof that night because he was chasing a female cat in heat. Strays often find themselves in dangerous situations just because they are in heat. They will produce more offsprings that puts many more felines lives at risk. Here at LezNeuter, we are committed to combat stray overpopulation for more animals enjoy a healthy and happy life.
