HAWTHORN has certainly bloomed since he arrived at the shelter. And although still a bit shy, he's showing us that he's capable of giving and receiving affection especially from his favorite people.

Husky Throwback Thursday! 🐶

The puppies were 5 weeks old in this picture, captured eating in a row.

Puppy #3 can be easily identified from the others because he is the only one with the white triangular marking on the back, between the shoulders.

He actually inherited that from their mother Bella, seen here with a similar white mark on her back.

Puppy #3 is one of our 3 remaining puppies available! 🐕

As mentioned before, #4 might not have unique markings, but he has the most unique sleeping poses!

Now that all 6 puppies have been featured, it's time to turn the spotlight to the sire/father of the litter: Snow!

For the most part, Snow is a low-maintenance dog. Most of the time he's just lying around! There's very little that bothers him.

However, he becomes quite excited for the few things he wants. He'll bark and whine loudly when he knows it's time for food or walks. Suddenly he's like a different dog!

He's not as sweet as other dogs; he will rarely come to you for attention, but is always willing to receive it. 🐶

Featuring last but not the least, puppy #6!

Like #1, #6 has eyes that are both blue. He can be distinguished by those white "sleeves" on both front legs.

The other puppies were born at 45-minute intervals; #6 came out 5 hours after the previous!

Combined with his "arm sleeves", his late arrival reminds me of Marvel's Bucky the Winter Soldier. 😁

Personality-wise, #6 is like #2, independent and keeps to himself, but #6 is more obedient.

Featuring puppy #5!

#5 is our little explorer. He always wants to see areas beyond his access. As the following photos reveal, he wouldn't sit still during the photoshoot, so we had to make... different arrangements. 😅

He is the only one whose eyes are both brown. This contributes to his generally homey appearance, along with his smile and friendliness.

Prone to being hyperactive, but also just the sweetest.

What are the percentages of eye color among the Siberian Husky population?

👀 40% have blue eyes
👀 40% have brown eyes
👀 15% have bi-colored eyes
👀 5% have parti-colored eyes

In our Husky litter, puppies #2, #3 and #4 have bi-colored eyes. Puppies #1 and #6 have blue eyes. Puppy #5 has brown eyes.

The dam has blue eyes and the sire has bi-colored eyes. Because one parent has bi-colored eyes, the percentage of puppies who inherited those eyes are higher than the general Husky population. 🐶

Featuring puppy #4!

Due to the lack of unique coat markings, #4 was hard to identify when the puppies were younger. At present he can be distinguished by the stern, wolf-like face and the bi-colored eyes.

His eye colors are switched to those of #2 and #3; his eyes are brown on the left and blue on the right!

His personality matches his middle-of-the-pack appearance: playful but not the most playful, independent but not the most independent.

He does have the most interesting sleeping poses. We'll post more of those in the future!

Throwback Thursday! 🐶

Can we identify all the puppies in this day-1 picture?

Let's start with the easy ones. #6 can be identified by his white "sleeves", of which we see only the elbow here but enough to be distinct.

#1 is the only light brown in the litter and has no black fur. He can be safely identified on the upper right.

Moving on to the less sure guesses: #5 has the deepest brown coloration in the group after #1. He is probably the one in the middle.

#3 has a white triangular mark on his back, between the shoulders. Since no one with their backs showing has the white mark, we can assume that #3 is the one on the upper left. The white mark must be hidden from view.

Finally, #2 and #4 are the last two at the bottom. #2 has a wider white marking on his forehead, but without their facial markings showing to the camera, we cannot identify which is which.

Now you realize how hard they are to identify without their eye colors! 👁

Featuring puppy #3!

Visually, #3 appears very similar to #2. You can compare their coat pattern as they stand here side-by-side. They even have the same eye color, blue on the left and brown on the right!

#3 can be distinguished by the thin white stripe on the top of the head and the triangular white mark on the back between the shoulders.

Personality-wise, #2 is independent and tough while #3 is sociable and playful.

Featuring puppy #2!

These shots make #2 look so serious. Not a single smile! He is very observant and seems to think before acting.

You can recognize him with the small tan stripe on the forehead, and those bi-colored eyes.

Today we have the unused pictures from our photoshoot, featuring puppy #1!

#1 is unique in that he is the only one in the litter who inherited the coat color of the sire, Snow. This coat color is categorized as light red.

However, he also has those "goggles" that they all inherited from the dam, Bella.

They are like superheroes hiding their secret identity!

Throwback Thursday!

Bella gave birth to the litter on the early hours of April 17, 2021. She was a great first-time mom who required only minimal assistance.
