At just 22 years old, Aldrin Sojourner Gamayon from San Nicolas, Ilocos Norte, is leading a transformative mission to empower farmers through his AI-powered AgriConnect app. This groundbreaking tool simplifies risk management with a traffic light system—green for safe, yellow for caution, and red for immediate action—helping farmers combat pests, diseases, and climate change while reducing crop losses by at least 30% annually.
Gamayon’s innovation earned him global recognition as the first Filipino to win at the Red Bull Basement World Finals in Tokyo, Japan, where he competed against 110,000 participants from 39 countries.
As he prepares for an immersion program in Silicon Valley, Gamayon, backed by Ateneo Blue Nest’s startup incubation program, is set to scale his project to benefit more farmers. “If we take care of our farmers, we take care of our future,” he affirms, showing how technology and compassion can reshape the agricultural landscape.
