Due to a very busy schedule he decided to quit and focus on his work in a shipping industry while I, “Emman” never had any interest in this hobby. Upon his retirement last 2011, he asked me to stop from exotics pets because of my son “Euro”. He and I can’t stand a house without any pets so we talked and discuss to meet half way. I sold all of my exotic pets and stuffs and decided to support the ho
bby of my father. We Started breeding again Jan of 2011 and we came up short due to my father’s knowledge about African Lovebirds are obsolete, by the year of "12 we decided to ask help from colleagues and friends. There we met "Rhian" who helped us to know what kind of mutations are available in the market, what are the demands and supply etc., until we established specific mutations to sustain our aviary on its own. Then we decided to join a club for more learning experience on the breeding, facilitating and mutation/genetics. United Lovebird Breeders of the Phillipines (ULBP Inc). The officers and members welcomed us gladly and openly helped us about our inquiries and question, they even lectured and taught us one on one about mutation in eyerings. The type of ALBS we are interested to keep and breed. Even "Badilla Aviary" shared their experiences and knowledge to ULBP as our advisers. Being a member of ULBP is not only about birds, family and friendship comes first before birds. By the year 2013 we already established what we really want and needed to have in this hobby. We bred, monitored, took care of our clutches and kept a selected few for future breeding. When I and my wife decided to renovate our house in the summer of 2014, my father also decided to have our aviary to be renovated... and so the renovation begins and ended 3rd quarter of that same year. We decided stop our breeding which we normally does during the summer and started breeding again after the renovations. "Vj", my friend and co-member of ULBP together with our Chairman "Boy" introduced me to "Manny Ballada", a farm owner of birds. After few meetings and gatherings "Manny" and I was given an opportunity to be friends and he’s now sharing the knowledge with us on what he knows about other birds which he currently breeds in his farm. Through this, E-jim Aviary is still on the process of improving the stocks available and producing quality African Lovebirds while developing systems and processes that could help us and other breeders as well.
