Happy Mother's Day to all the amazing moms who never fail to open their hearts to provide love, care, and support to children.

We also would like to show you how this Agave became the "mom" of these gymno babies. After weeks of sharing its pot, all pups were able to thrive and grow. But it is now time for us to uproot them to promote growth, health, and overall well-being.

Not only are we obsessed with cacti and succulents, but we're also starting to fall in love with air plants!

Unlike most plants, these fascinating plants don't need soil to grow. All you need to do is soak them in water for 30 minutes once or twice a week and provide them with sunlight, and they'll thrive.

Air plants are also known as Tillandsia and can flourish both indoors and outdoors. With their unique patterns and colorful blooms, they make perfect display plants.

And yes, those little Agave pups in the background have all grown up now!

Do you have your own collection of air plants? We'd be glad to see it.

For all plant enthusiasts, here's another interesting fact.

Astrophytum Caput-Medusae was discovered and described by Mexican botanists M. Nevárez de los Reyes M. and C. Velazco Macías in 2002.

The name Caput medusae came from the Latin term "Medusa's head," which refers to the cactus's white and curly spines that resemble the snakes on Medusa's head.

Although slow-growing, this cactus can live for many years and continue to produce new growth with proper care.

Feel free to share your own Caput Medusae with us!

We understand that many cacti enthusiasts are drawn to candy-colored varieties, but we also recommend adding a non-variegated cactus to your collection.

Here's why: cacti with solid colors, like the one in the image below, tend to be more resilient to stressors such as extreme temperatures. The dark pigment in these cacti helps them absorb and retain heat, which enables them to survive in hot and harsh environments. Additionally, the pigment aids in water utilization, allowing the cactus to make the most of the water it receives.

Aren't they wonderful creatures?

Hello fellow aloe enthusiasts!

We want to ensure that you are taking care of your aloes properly. Here are some tips on how to give them the care they need:

1. Use a pot with drainage holes and a well-draining soil mix.

2. Avoid overwatering, as succulents do not like it. Only water them when the soil is completely dry.

3. Succulents need plenty of sunlight to thrive, but in the Philippines where the sun is strong, providing some shade is crucial.

4. Keep an eye out for any signs of infestation and watch out for pests like mealybugs and other harmful insects. Take immediate action as soon as you spot them.

Do you have a unique way of taking care of your aloes? Please feel free to share your tips with us! We would love to hear them.

What sparked my interest in collecting aloes, you may ask?

Well, the answer lies in their distinct and vibrant features. In addition, they are low-maintenance plants, but this doesn't mean we won't put in any effort. To achieve their beautiful form, I ensure they receive adequate sunlight, water, and soil. And finally, I make it a point to talk to them every day!

I hope everyone is having a great Sunday.

Leigh Hunt once said, "Colors are the smiles of nature." Now, let's take a moment to appreciate the beauty of this plant: Gymnocalycium Mihanovichii f. Variegata.

Did you know that the color of these plants comes from pigments called anthocyanins and carotenoids, which are produced by the plant's chloroplasts? These pigments are responsible for the various shades of pink, red, purple, yellow, and orange that you often see in the plant's flowers and spines.

If you happen to own one of these plants, it's important to note that factors such as sunlight, temperature, and soil conditions can influence the color and intensity of its pigments.

Hi mga ka-halaman!

We found this huge Agave while we were in Baguio. This is just one of the many plants we found that show resilience and great adaptation. Just take a look at how large it is.

Did you know that Agave is used to make tequila? Specifically, it is made from the blue agave plant. The process involves removing the plant's spiky leaves to unveil the piña or its core. Then, it is cooked and crushed to extract its juice. The juice is then fermented and distilled to create the final product.

Nature's ability to surprise and impress us is truly remarkable, don't you agree?"

Good morning to all plant enthusiasts.

Isn't it wonderful to wake up to a botanical wonderland?

Look! It is Gymnocalycium Daydream which always adds a bit of magic to our mornings without fail.

Did you know? Gymnocalycium comes from the Greek words "gymno" (meaning naked) and "kalyx" (meaning calyx or flower cup). This refers to the lack of hair or spines on the flower buds of some species. Gymnocalycium cacti are known for their distinctive round or cylindrical shape, and many species produce beautiful flowers in a wide range of colors, including pink, red, yellow, and white.

Of course, don't hesitate to share which plant brings excitement and happiness to your morning. Have a great and productive day!

Did you know?

Astrophytum Capricorne is a cactus species native to Mexico and known for its unique appearance. It is also known as "goat's horn cactus".

Further, its thick and thorny outer layer helps deter some predators from approaching. While its resilient and leathery skin makes it difficult to pe*****te.

Now, let us all enjoy the beauty of this prickly queen. 🌵

We Filipino aloe hybridizers have worked hard to produce the best Aloe hybrids we can offer to our customers. We've put our blood, sweat, and tears into creating hybrid varieties that are both resilient and beautiful. We've strived to make sure that each hybrid is carefully cultivated and cared for, and of the highest quality. We are deeply grateful for the efforts of those who have come before us. They have created many beautiful hybrids that have helped to shape the Aloe varieties available today. However, we have also put in a great deal of effort and dedication to produce our own hybrids. We are proud of what we have achieved and look forward to continuing to provide our customers with the best Aloe hybrids we can offer.

We also hope that our customers (and international collectors and hybridizers) appreciate our efforts and recognize the passion and dedication that goes into each of our Aloe hybrids.
