Patient is an adult female poodle with chief complaints of generalized malaise, anorexia, and fever. Several tests performed including a complete blood test and blood parasite test. Unfortunately Cali’s blood sample detected presence of antibodies of Ehrlichia. CBC also revealed thrombocytopenia (low platelet) and anemia, hence so-called ‘dengue’ sa a*o.

Take note that dengue fever is different from blood parasitism in dogs. Kailangan lamang natin gumamit ng mga terms upang lalong maintindihan ng furparent ang sitwasyon ng kanilang alaga. Client education is important.

Panatiliing malinis ang inyong kennel area, iwasan muna ang lumabas, regular na pagpupurga at tick and flea preventives, at most importantly, pabakunahan ang ating minamahal na alaga. Siguraduhing magpabakuna sa isang lisensyadong beterinaryo, red flag sa hindi, ayaw natin nun 🚩🚩🚩
