📌 Precautions for the upcoming spay/neuter event

As excited as we are for the upcoming event and as much as we would love to welcome everyone, we have to ask for all the dogs/cats to be in a good health condition in order to undergo the spay/neuter procedure and anti-rabies vaccine ⚕️

Although highly unlikely, as with every surgical procedure, there are possible risks of complications or even death ❗️

It is hard to establish any underlying health conditions with a naked eye, without proper lab tests done. Blood parasites have been prevalent on the island in the recent years and we have seen some complications during the operations. Those were especially present in pure/half pure breeds. Possible reason being that aspins tend to be more resilient and being native to the island, tend to deal better with existing adversities such as bacteria, viruses and parasites 🐕

We advise as much as possible to have a CBC tests done at the vet clinic (Surigao Pet Doctors) prior to the spay/neuter procedure to avoid any complications or risks 🧪

This is again not to scare anyone but to simply highlight the potential risks and the importance to keep the babies healthy and happy before and during the event 🐶
