๐Ÿ‘๏ธ Eye Enucleation: When Saving the Eye Is No Longer Possible

Eye enucleation is the surgical removal of a damaged or diseased eye. While it may sound alarming, this procedure is often the most compassionate way to relieve a petโ€™s pain and prevent further complications.

๐Ÿ” When is it needed?
There are situations where the eye is too injured or infected to recover, and no amount of medicine or topical treatment can save it. Common causes include:
โ€ข Severe eye trauma or rupture
โ€ข Glaucoma with uncontrollable high pressure
โ€ข Deep ulcers or advanced infections
โ€ข Tumors or cancers involving the eye
โ€ข Long-standing inflammation that destroyed eye tissue

๐Ÿ’” Why canโ€™t we just save the eye?
Once the inner parts of the eye (like the retina or optic nerve) are permanently damaged, the eye canโ€™t regain vision or heal properly. Keeping it may only cause:
โ€ข Ongoing pain and discomfort
โ€ข Possible infection or tumor spread
โ€ข Persistent swelling or discharge

With heavy hearts, we share the passing of our beloved clinic cat, Mingkoy.

On May 20, 2025, our sweet boy crossed the rainbow bridge.

To everyone who visited our clinic and witnessed his charm, cuddles, and gentle soul โ€” thank you for loving him with us. Minkoy wasnโ€™t just our clinic companion; he was family, a source of comfort, and a quiet strength on even the toughest days.

Mingkoy battled a serious medical condition โ€” one that was sadly beyond control, even with all the care, expertise, and love from our veterinary team. We fought alongside him until the very end, and he remained brave and gentle through it all.

He brightened the lives of so many โ€” greeting clients and patients with soft purrs, napping in the sunlit corners, and offering his quiet kindness to patients and humans alike.

Though our clinic feels a little emptier now, our hearts remain full of the memories he gave us.
