NEWS UPDATE: Talisay, Cebu Mayor Gerald Anthony Gullas gives an update on the death of George Mayol, who was believed to have been attacked by his dog to death.
“I received the official death certificate on George Mayol earlier today. According to death certificate, Mayol died of a heart attack.
With that in mind, our acting City Veterinarian, Dr. Hope Dejadena, will shorten the observation period for Spike, the dog in question.
After the observation period, Spike will be up for adoption, hopefully within the week.
Dili na nato dugayon because it clearly shows in the death certificate, that he didn’t die from the dog but from a heart attack.
Dr. Dejadena said she plans to release Spike for adoption by Thursday this week since mao sad na nga adlawa nga mahuman ang 10-day observation period.
She added that Spike is not showing any sign or symptom of rabies.
Aside ni Spike, Dr. Dejadena said there will be five dogs with him that are also ready for adoption.
I would like to thank everyone, ilabi na sa atong very active nga acting City Vet and to our furparents nga nishow gyud sa ilang pagsupport ug love for Spike and all the dogs concerned.
Until now, makareceive gihapon ko ug messages of support para ni Spike. It goes to show nga daghan na kaayo tag mga constituents and even friends outside our city that are showing love for our canine friends.”, Gullas posted on Facebook on Tuesday.
