Hello fellow fur parents. Just in case, naay nag need ani nga information, I am sharing these steps on how to travel with your pet by sea. If your travel is by air, please contact BAI office at 0956 942 6349. or ask the airline for additional requirements (if any.)

How to acquire a travel permit for your pet?
1.) HAVE YOUR PET VACCINATED AGAINST RABIES AT LEAST MORE THAN 14 DAYS BEFORE YOUR TRAVEL DATE. YOUR PET SHOULD BE AT LEAST 3 MONTHS TO GET ANTI-RABIES VACCINE AND AT LEAST 2 MONTHS TO BE PERMITTED TO TRAVEL. ALL PETS ARE SUBJECT TO A 14-DAY QUARANTINE PERIOD, THUS HAVING YOUR PET VACCINATED 14 DAYS PRIOR TO TRAVEL DATE IS ADVISED, EXCEPT FOR VACCINATION RENEWALS.
Where: Department of Veterinary Services City Pound and Veterinary Clinics
Fee: (mostly) 200.00
Validity: 1 year
2.) OBTAIN A VETERINARY HEALTH CERTIFICATE (VHC) FROM THE VET WHERE YOU HAD YOUR PET VACCINATED. YOU MAY ALSO REQUEST THIS DOCUMENT FROM ANY VETERINARY CLINIC; YOU JUST NEED TO PRESENT YOUR PET'S VACCINATION CARD. SINCE THE VHC IS VALID FOR 3 DAYS ONLY, MAKE SURE TO REQUEST THE SAID DOCUMENT 2 DAYS BEFORE YOUR TRAVEL DATE TO GIVE TIME FOR PERMIT APPLICATION APPROVAL.
Fee: (mostly) 200.00
Validity: 3 days
3.) REGISTER AT HTTPS://NVQSD.BAI.GOV.PH/ TO APPLY FOR PERMIT ONLINE. ON THE WEBSITE MENU, PLEASE CLICK E-SERVICES AND CHOOSE ISSUANCE OF LOCAL SHIPPING PERMIT, THEN FOLLOW THE STEPS TO UPLOAD YOUR DOCUMENTS—VACCINATION CARD, PHOTO AND DETAILS OF YOUR PET, AND VETERINARY HEALTH CERTIFICATE.
BAI OFFICE HAS BEEN PROCESSING PERMITS ONLINE SINCE THE PANDEMIC STARTED; HOWEVER, THERE ARE TIMES THAT THEY ALSO PROCESS PERMITS MANUALLY. THUS, GOING TO THE OFFICE IS NOT ALWAYS A GUARANTEE.
IN THE EVENT THAT YOU ENCOUNTER PROBLEMS PROCESSING THE PERMIT ONLINE—ESPECIALLY FOR FIRST TIME APPLICATIONS, PLEASE CALL 0956 942 6349.
THERE IS NO FEE FOR PERMIT APPLICATION; HOWEVER, YOU WILL BE CHARGED 150.00 PER PET BEFORE BOARDING THE SHIP.
