Maru Grooming Challenge is a friendly competition where participants raise their Channa Marus and compare their growth and development to other challengers over a specific period. The goal of the challenge is to provide the best possible care and overall fish health. Participants typically prepare their fish by grooming their fins, scales, and overall appearance to make them look their best. Judges assess the fish based on criteria such as fin symmetry, coloration, health, and overall aesthetics.
Here's how a Channa Maru Grooming challenge typically works
Selection: Participants start by selecting their juvenile Channa Maru. These are typically Channas that haven't fully developed their characteristic features yet. We will ship randomly to make sure that there are no biased sections for the grooming challenge.
Care and Maintenance:
Participants are responsible for providing optimal care for their Channa during the challenge. This includes maintaining appropriate water conditions, providing a balanced diet, and ensuring proper tank filtration and aeration.
Documentation:
Throughout the competition, participants should document their Channas Marus growth progress by taking regular measurements, photographs, or videos. This helps track the fish's size, coloration, and overall development over time.
Comparisons and Judging:
At the end of the designated period, participants compare the growth and development of their Channa Marus. Measurements and visual observations are used to determine the winners based on criteria such as overall growth rate, body shape, fin development, Mentality, Flower development, and coloration.
Rules and Guidelines:
1. Take a photo of the received fish (left and right clear photos with date)
2. The duration will be 180 days, and you may use any grooming supplements available on the market.
3. On the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th month, you will send another photo of the Channa fish you are grooming (left and right clear photos with date). This will not be shown to everyone, it will be collected for documentation only. Late submissions will be penalized or disqualified.
4. On the 6th month, please make sure to submit a 1-minute video of your Channa Maru performing at its best in your tank with a white background, white lights, no driftwood, no rocks, and no plants. You also need to send the clearest left and right photos for judging purposes. Strictly no tannins for the video and photo, so the judge can see the fish easily. Failure to submit on time will also be penalized or disqualified.
