It is always a must to check your dogs from any form of external parasites. In this particular case, the dog was presented for excessive scratching and pruritus and was later found out to be carrying tons of Lice.

Lice are yellowish to brown insects, they are wingless and dorso-ventrally flattened. These lice feed on skin debris, inflammatory exudates, and occasionally blood. Lice lay eggs called nits and cement it in the hair shaft.

This dog is infested with Chewing Louse or called Trichodectes canis (must be italicized) as shown in the videos and images. It may occasionally act as an intermediate host for tapeworm Dipylidium caninum (must be italicized).

How to Treat?
1. Application of approved insecticide proven to be effective against it (ask you veterinarians about it)
2. Treat all dogs in close contact to prevent reinfestation
3. Wash, clean, disinfect and dry properly all pet beddings

Found in front of Pet Protection Veterinary Clinic around 10am. Currently we put the cat on IV Fluids since he is severely dehydrated while the female dog is suffering from a generalized Demodicosis. Our team already gave treatments and food to these patients.

If in any case these pets are yours, kindly visit us at the clinic. If no one will claim these pets, they will be up for adoption once their condition becomes better.

Spaying and castration are common procedures that will help our pets to live long and healthier lives. These procedures help reduce and eliminate rabies cases, control population and decrease.

Notes to remember:

1. All pets must be HEALTHY and free from any diseases
2. All pets must be at least 6 months of age and are encouraged to be completely vaccinated
3. Pets must be fasted at least 4 hours for cats (without withdrawal of water) and at least 8 hours for dogs
4. CBC is encouraged to be done a day before the surgery (but may be done the same day) to assess fitness for the procedure. If in case not fit for surgery, the procedure will be rescheduled and CBC must be repeated again (at the expense of the owners).

Our life as a medical professional and provider is not an easy job. In fact, it is mentally, physically, emotionally and socially exhausting and challenging for all of us. It is a roller coaster of emotions and stress but what better way to ease that and to equate that than FOOD!

C-section of the day. These puppies are born today. We are birthday-mates :D Surgeon: Dr Jonathan Chua Asst surgeon: Dr Paula Rollo Assistants: Kuya Cyrell, Eric, Bing, Aaron The mama dog is suspected to have blood parasitism infection and starts exhibiting labor signs 2 days ago and luckily, upon ultrasonography, these 5 puppies are still alive. The mama dog's pregnancy is unplanned so we recommended CS-Spay procedure since it exhibits pyometra signs already (mucopurulent discharge from vulva). Please pray for the health of these puppies and the mama dog.
