A cat lover is requesting if you have spare cage for cats. Need kasi nila to move out sa Kanilang tinitirhan. Pwede din daw dog cage para Mas malaki kasi need e shelter ang 3 cats. Di kasi allowed sa nirerentahan nilang house, kaya naghahanap Sila ng matitirhan na pwede ang mga alaga nila. Thank you 😊

They lured the stray cats with food and they were finally caught and they went to a safer place with the temporary fosters. Some of them are pregnant! Thank you for the volunteers who helped made this happened.❤️❤️❤️

We sent crates/carriers to the temporary fosters to catch the stray dogs and cats in the area before they get impounded and killed this week!

In the meantime, we sent dog and cat food to the temporary fosters of those dogs and cats roaming in that area that we knew where animals are mercilessly tortured and killed.
Stray dogs and cats roamed around to find food! Unfortunately they become pests due to overpopulation and poverty.

Cookie’s Dog and Cat Shelter (CBDC) started last June 28, 2021, with the help of few known friends and volunteers. Davao, located in the Southeastern Philippines, my birthplace and where I grew up, still has stray dogs and cats roaming around the streets. “Twelve million stray cats and dogs roamed the nation in 2019, according to the Philippines Animal Welfare Society. Each year, many thousands of the animals are euthanized in pounds or die of disease, hunger or wounds resulting from fighting.” PAWS Jul 31, 2020.

CBDC will operate in Davao City covering the 3 districts with 1 administrator, 1 carer and 2 volunteers. Our goal is to keep the dogs and cats out from the streets and to have healthy lives through our care or through adoption and fostering, providing nutritious food and shelter.

The following are our Major programs: SESAN

1. Sheltering as much as we can provide (limited) – rescuing a certain number of dogs (8) and cats(8) in our shelter/center.

2. Education - targeting schoolchildren, special children, people in prison and including the general population.

3. Spay-Neuter Campaign – affiliate with veterinarians for Spay/Neuter Clinic to be done every month for the 3 districts (rotating), total 20 dogs and cats everytime.

4. Adoption/Fostering – facilitate the fostering and adoption process. We will formulate criteria for the potential pets to be adopted as well as criteria for the people who would like to adopt or foster.

5. Networking – Coordinate with government and nonprofit organizations as well as with private organizations that have the same goal in helping the stray dogs and cats to get health care, basic food and shelter and hopefully to go to their Forever Home.
