Behavioral Conditioning and Teaching Friza
Lilly was supposed to be obedience trained with a previous trainer. They unfortunately went behind the owner’s (Friza’s) back and tied Lilly to a post, agitating her until she exploded with aggression. This is a good way to ruin a Doberman. Lilly now has a tiny threshold to cope with fear, especially because her temperament isn’t suited for protection. The result is a very unpredictable dangerous dog. I let Lilly think and learn to trust me rather than applying force in this case. This is fixable with a bit of work and dedication.
Friza was adamant that she wanted to work her dog. Our job as trainers is to teach owners and build confidence in handling. Much respect to Friza and the progress made in just two sessions. ❤️💪🏼
* Don’t try this at home. Each aggression case is carefully planned to help each dog individually. It is NOT one size fits all. 😀
Small Dogs Can Work
Coco has a serious obsession with killing the TV and light reflections. While we correct her to remove some negative behavior we also add an activity so she can use her nose. In our homes, the ancestral wolf still exists. Dogs still need to use their natural instincts to create balance. ❤️
Boris is a Moscow Watch dog, bred for loyalty, confidence, and strength to provide service to the military. They are a combination of St. Bernard, Caucasian Shepherd, and Russian Spotted Hound. What do you get when you mix a guard dog with a live stock guardian and a hunting dog??
You get a very aloof, independent, and highly unmotivated dog bred for defense. When you add sound 💥trauma and reinforced flight behavior; the result is reactivity from fear. This is why evaluating dogs and adapting the approach is critical in dog training.
I rarely work new dogs in this fashion but due to temperament, fear, and reactivity I needed to use negative reinforcement; remove pressure to increase a desired behavior. Additionally, I had to execute negative reinforcement in a way that doesn’t create more trauma. This was a big improvement for this dog as he barks incessantly at strangers and will need long term rehabilitation. Coaching the owners is key.
*Please consult a professional before trying these methods at home.
Excercise
Dog’s need exercise and to move their bodies, a fat dog will always wind up w joint problems as dog legs are slim and not well equipped for the excess weight. Using the landscape to get a better workout is always helpful. ❤️
Obstacle
Ramos doing what he loves best.
This is the first time Ramos invited Mar to pet him. We took this relationship VERY slow as my daughter is a bit scared of Ramos. Furthermore I was told by Jana Hodel, his previous owner and police K-9 handler, that he’s never been around children. “He doesn’t know what they are.” It’s important to not only look at the dog but the human’s behavior when assessing how a dog may respond to a scenario. It’s important to mediate introductions between new humans and other dogs safely. Reading the behavior is key. ❤️
Conflict with Fetch
We have to allow the dog to learn to enjoy the game and realize that cooperation is key so they can optimize their fun! The previous work was more focused on out and made the dog more possessive of the ball. When you show the dog you want to play with THEM and it’s not about the ball, they enjoy playing much more. I’m unconcerned about his mistakes on out when building drive. That’s easy to fix for this dog. ❤️🙌🏼
Just train a little every day.❤️
Dog Sport
It’s important to support each other in dog sport as it’s not about OUR accomplishments but bringing THE DOG as far as they can go and honoring their purpose. Thank you Keith for letting me take part in building Akira! Congrats to you for all your milestones! 😘
Night Training
Training in the moonlight to avoid the HEAT and we accommodated his daytime work at the beach. ❤️🌅🌌
Puppy Training
This is a good example of how we train pups. First we ensure they know the verbal cue. Then we teach leash pressure so we have a gentle way to reinforce training if they make mistakes. Loose leash walking is coming along. Whenever you train a “sit” with your pup always ensure to practice FRONT and SIDE sits so they don’t move in front when teaching a heel. ❤️🐶🥰Mechelle Karsten your Luna!
Pups started with us receive a lower board&train rate for life. We want to encourage the early development of training in puppies and reward responsible pet ownership. ✨
I forgot this gem of the old lady (9 years old) getting a chance to bite. Kanai is a fast dog. ❤️
Group Training
Gloomy days, get up and train! Socialization and restraint. ❤️

The Boi ❤️
Spending time with my very loving and cherished boy. This dog would die for me although I wouldn't ask him to. We have an indescribable bond and I love him so much. ❤️
Socializing & Training
Often dog owners are in a catch 22 with their dogs. They cannot bring them out to get exercise and socialize because their behavior is bad and their behavior is bad because they get no training, exercise, or socialization in public. If you're in this pickle, send us a message so we can help you accomplish your goals.
