Nakapagtala ang Department of Health (DOH) ng 426 na pagkamatay na may kaugnayan sa rabies noong 2024 kung kaya't binibigyang diin ng DOH ang pangangailangan para sa pagbabakuna ng mga alagang hayop at kamalayan ng publiko sa pag-iwas sa rabies.

Ayon sa DOH, 193 kaso (45%) ay nagresulta mula sa kagat o pagkakalantad sa mga alagang hayop, kung saan 41% ng mga kaso ay nauugnay sa hindi nabakunahan na mga hayop. Bukod pa rito, 56% ang kasangkot sa mga hayop na may hindi tiyak na katayuan ng pagbabakuna sa rabies.

Eye Enucleation is a surgical procedure that involves the complete removal of the eye. Due to Moonlite's injuries that rupture the globe it causes severe infection and lead to irreparable damage. In this case, sacrificing the eye is the best and the only solution.

👁 Early intervention can prevent minor issues from becoming more serious. Address early signs of eye discomfort, redness/discoloration, discharge and excessive tearing. Seeking professional guidance promptly can help your pet's eye safe and reduce the risk of eye enucleation.

Meet KULIT our super lambing patient. According to his Furparent, Kulit suddenly refused to eat, drink and become severely lethargic. After series of physical exam and laboratory exams, kulit was diagnosed with FLUTD.

What is FLUTD?
Feline Lower Urinary Tract Disease is a term for a group of conditions associated with the lower Urinary Tract, including urethra.
in the case of kulit he's suffering with:
-Urethral obstruction that prevent him from urinating.
-Urinary tract infections
-Crystalluria ( crystals in urine)

With the effort of our Vet and staff we conducted emergency Urinary catheterization to drain and collect urine from the bladder. After giving proper medication, supportive treatment, and prescription diet, Kulit is now ready to go home 🏠😸. Kudos to this brave furbaby.
