Common Mushrooms in the Philippines:
Magic Mushrooms (𝘗𝘴𝘪𝘭𝘰𝘤𝘺𝘣𝘦 𝘤𝘶𝘣𝘦𝘯𝘴𝘪𝘴) is a psychedelic mushroom in the genus 𝘗𝘴𝘪𝘭𝘰𝘤𝘺𝘣𝘦. Psilocin and its prodrug, psilocybin, as well as norbaeocystin and baeocystin, are the principal psychedelic components of this mushroom.

𝘗𝘴𝘪𝘭𝘰𝘤𝘺𝘣𝘦 𝘤𝘶𝘣𝘦𝘯𝘴𝘪𝘴 is a coprophilic (dung-loving) fungus that commonly colonizes the dung of large herbivores, most notably cows.

𝘗𝘴𝘪𝘭𝘰𝘤𝘺𝘣𝘦 𝘤𝘶𝘣𝘦𝘯𝘴𝘪𝘴 thrives in areas where humidity is consistently around 85% and grass-eating mammals abound. Because these animals have no or very little stomach acid, cubensis grows frequently on their excrement. The cow consumes feed that contains mushroom spores, which germinate in the cow's moist, warm gut.

False Parasol, Vomiter (𝘊𝘩𝘭𝘰𝘳𝘰𝘱𝘩𝘺𝘭𝘭𝘶𝘮 𝘮𝘰𝘭𝘺𝘣𝘥𝘪𝘵𝘦𝘴) responsible for many mushroom poisonings around the world due to it's similar appearance with edible mushroom species such as the true parasol mushroom (𝘔𝘢𝘤𝘳𝘰𝘭𝘦𝘱𝘪𝘰𝘵𝘢 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘤𝘦𝘳𝘢) or the shaggy parasols (𝘊𝘩𝘭𝘰𝘳𝘰𝘱𝘩𝘺𝘭𝘭𝘶𝘮 𝘳𝘩𝘢𝘤𝘰𝘥𝘦𝘴). It produces severe gastrointestinal symptoms in the form of vomiting and diarrhea with an onset of 1-3 hours after consumption.

Vomiter Mushroom can be observed as solitary mushrooms or forming complete or incomplete "fairy rings" in lawns, grassy areas, and open woods.

Check your parasol mushrooms by making a spore print, if it's green it's likely to be Green-spored Parasol.

Common Mushrooms in the Philippines:
Puffball mushrooms, (𝘊𝘢𝘭𝘷𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘢 𝘴𝘱.). Edible Saprobic fungi found mostly in grassy areas. Instead of being eaten, it's more likely to be kicked by a child. To ensure edibility, puffballs should be pure white inside, no green or yellow coloring. Often used as a tofu substitute for its texture.

𝘗𝘢𝘯𝘢𝘦𝘰𝘭𝘶𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘭𝘭𝘢𝘳𝘶𝘮, often mistaken for it's psychedelic lookalike, 𝘗𝘢𝘯𝘢𝘦𝘰𝘭𝘶𝘴 𝘤𝘺𝘢𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘤𝘦𝘯𝘴. Common and edible, but not usually eaten due to its taste. All members of the Panaeolus genus contain serotonin. 𝘗. 𝘢𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘭𝘭𝘢𝘳𝘶𝘮 does not have any psychedelic properties.
