When we put up the clinic, we always wanted to make a difference in our community in our own little way.

Strays and underpriviledged cats and dogs will always have a special place in our practice and hearts. Last October 13, we are again proud and priviledged to be part of Mission Pawpulation Control together with our advocacy partners.

A total of 130+ cats and dogs were neutered and are now ready to live healthier lives without adding to the burden of unwanted puppies and kittens.

Congratulations to everyone who made this event possible. Hats off to the tireless volunteers/rescuers/sponsors!

In collaboration with LezNeuter, PART- Iligan (PET ADOPTION and RESCUE TEAM- Iligan), Inc., Kharle Jane Marketing, and Iligan stray feeders, another round of low cost neuter campaign is coming this October 13, 2024!

Please be advised on the latest rate for the Low-Cost Neuter:

FOR PUSPINS and ASPINS
Male cat - 500php
Female cat - 1000php
Male dog - 1500php
Female dog - 2000php

WITH BREED*
Male cat - 1500php
Female cat - 2000php
Male dog - 2500php
Female dog - 3500php

> Prices are inclusive of 1 shot of long-acting antibiotics and other pre-operative meds including analgesic. THIS IS REQUIRED.

> Additional 500php pesos for dogs that weigh more than 15kg. (per 5kg bodyweight increase)

> Additional 500php for cats and 1000php for dogs will be asked if pet is found to be pregnant and/or with abnormal uterus (females) and cryptorchid (male)

a male cat looking for a mate can:

- get lost
- get hit by vehicles
- get bites and scratches from fighting that may become infected
- get exposed to infectious diseases and external parasites that they can bring back and expose your other cats to
- stressed that can trigger feline lower urinary tract disease (FLUTD) and cause blockage of urine flow
- can contribute to the problem of overpopulation

Veterinary clinics play an important role in wildlife conservation too! Our resident doctor, Eldani, is a staunch advocate of wildlife conservation and he did not hesitate to bring in this little rescued fruit bat when it was posted in an animal rescue group.

Locally known as kabog, fruit bats this small will normally stay attached to their mother all the time but unfortunately, they can accidentally fall which may be the case with this baby.

We may have to take care of this little one until we find a suitable rehabilitation facility. Thank you to the kind maam who rescued and brought this little one to us.

We will make this interesting by giving out prizes to whoever successfully names mama cat and her kittens!

Each name will win Php500 worth of Furpet'sake vet clinic gift certificate that can be redeemed in the form of services or product. Total prize will be Php2500 for the five (5) cats.

There will be no limit on how many times you will win! However, you can only submit one (1) entry per cat. only the first entry will be considered per person.

Kindly comment your entry (cat's name) on each of their pictures. Any name commented outside of a cat's picture will be deemed invalid.

The first person to comment the chosen name (in case there will be similar entries) will be declared the winner.

Acceptance of entries will be closed on September 1, 2024 at exactly 11:59AM.

They may not realize it yet but these wide-eyed beautiful cats are so lucky to be adopted by one of our clinic's beloved client.

A brief stop over here at the clinic for quarantine purposes and they will be off to their new home 😍

And we have been tasked to give these cuties their names! We will need your help to name mama cat and her 4 kittens! We will be doing a separate post for this so stay tuned!

Chakku, a 2-month old albino ball python was brought in due to accumulation of substrate material in his mouth causing discomfort, salivation, and inappetence.

The condition is caused by the combination of incompatible substrate (wood shavings) and Chakku's backward facing teeth. The shavings are thin enough for his teeth to pierce through and gets lodged because any attempt to push the material forward will only push it against his backward facing teeth.

Since Chakku's isn't keen on somebody opening his mouth for him, we decided to sedate him the safest way possible - with gas anesthesia. reptiles need to be sedated with caution since they have slow metabolism and will clear substances from their body at a much slower rate.

Once sedated, it was an easy task to remove the substrate materials from his mouth without stressing him out. With all of the materials removed, an appropriate dose of a suitable antibiotic was given intramuscularly to prevent and stop any ongoing infection.

A few minutes after the end of gas anesthesia, Chakku was well on his way to waking up. He was then transferred to a heated cage for further recovery.

Needless to say, Chakku was back to his old self once again by trying to bite anyone who touches him 😅
