Emergency ‼️

A 1 year old dog was presented to us with progressive tremors, with other clinical signs.

After thorough examination( physical examination and blood work results CBC and Chem)

Eclampsia- Post Partum Low Blood Calcium

Eclampsia (periparturient hypocalcemia) is characterized by progressive neurologic signs including tremors, ataxia, and disorientation; eventually followed by seizures, coma, and death.

It occurs most commonly in small-breed dogs that are nursing large litters, especially at peak lactation, 2–3 weeks after whelping.

A gentle cat was presented to our clinic with excessive regurgitation, sometimes gagging and is inappetent.

Diagnostic examination was done; physical examination, complete blood works and thanks to the radiograph examination especially to the expertise of the professional from the referred clinic, we are able to diagnose the underlying condition(the photo of Midas radiograph result is not from us; referred to other clinic for x-ray).

Megacolon is a chronic condition that occurs most often in cats and is basically a mega-sized, stretched-out, weakened colon.

Causes: bacteria, Spinal cord injury, Dehydration, excessive grooming, kidney issue and sometimes idiopathic/unknown, cause why not? Cats are weird.🫣🫠

Megacolon in cats can cause devastating health consequences as the colon fills with old, hardened f***s, and the colon is not strong enough to pass the “cemented stool”.

To address this medical treatment is advice, but in some cases medical treatment is not enough and surgery must be perform ( either anastomosis/enterotomy) depending on the condition.

This is Midas after a year( 1st photo) ( no relapse so far) With proper diet and creating Harmony between Veterinarian and furparent. Stay healthy Midas 🤍 we are so glad He is doing fine.

Cats are good at hiding their pain, so make sure to have them check by your vet.
