We are incredibly proud to announce that our very own Dr. Lourdius Caliao and Dr. Adore Tumapang, the visionary founders of Beast Friend Veterinary Clinic and Petshop, have been recognized as Central Mindanao University 's 𝗢𝘂𝘁𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗔𝗹𝘂𝗺𝗻𝗶 𝗶𝗻 𝗘𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 by the CMU Alumni Inc.!

🩺 𝗦𝘂𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝗧𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗣𝘆𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗿𝗮 𝗶𝗻 𝗮 𝗦𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗼𝗿 𝗠𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗲𝘀𝗲 𝗣𝗼𝗼𝗱𝗹𝗲 🩺

Sugar, a 12-year-old female Maltese Poodle, was brought to our clinic showing signs of illness. An ultrasound and complete blood count (CBC) revealed pyometra, a potentially life-threatening infection of the uterus that causes it to fill with pus.

Immediate surgery was performed to remove the infected uterus, and we’re pleased to report that Sugar has made a full recovery and is back to her happy, energetic self.

We recently came across a cat that had accidentally swallowed a long needle. Thankfully, through X-rays, we were able to pinpoint the needle's exact location in its esophagus and carefully retrieve it without surgery. The needle even had a thread attached, making it even trickier!
⁣
Swallowing foreign objects is a common but dangerous problem for our pets. It can cause physical blockage, swelling, and tear in the esophagus or lead to an intestinal blockage. To prevent this, keep your home safe:
⁣
✅ 𝗞𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝘀𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗼𝗯𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘀 𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵. Store items such as needles, rubber bands, and small toys in secure places where your pets can't access them.
✅ 𝗣𝗲𝘁-𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗵𝗼𝗺𝗲. Regularly check areas where your pets spend time and remove any potential hazards.
✅ 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝘀𝗮𝗳𝗲 𝘁𝗼𝘆𝘀. Offer your pets appropriate toys that are designed for their size and play style.
