I've heard/seen it play out countless times, when a female cat goes into heat the owner will literally be physically unable to keep her inside. While it is so adorable to see our pets in different looks and color, there are some risks in dyeing our dogs' hair:
1. It promotes the objectification of animals - means we treat them as toys or objects without feelings;
2. It is a tedious and stressful procedure. It may cause anxiety to some dogs;
3. It can put the dog's health at risk, such as skin allergies, inhalation of chemicals from hair dye, chemical burns, etc.
4. Hair dyeing obscures natural scent of dogs. Scent is a means of communication to dogs. Obscuring scent hurts communication among dogs.
If you decide to dye your dog, it must be a 100% decision. Besides, sino ba namang hindi manggigil sa tuwa at kilig sa mga cute nating mga furbabies.
Here are some signs that your pets are dehydrated
1. Dry, Sticky, Pale Gums

This 5 months old kitten is spayed because she is already showing signs of HEAT.
Imagine, she is still a kitten but gets pregnant because she was not spayed. Kaya ipa SPAY (layget) na kaagad sila at this age.
This is Aural Hematoma in a dog. This happens when the dog scratch or shake its head too much due to itchiness of the ear. The blood vessels on the earflap break and bleed producing blood clots that cause the ear flap or pinna to swell (like in the picture).
This might not be an emergency case but this causes pain, irritation and anxiety to the dog. Affected ear when not drained or treated will shrink like that of a chicharon.
Simple syringe aspiration can be done if the swelling is just small.
Aural hematomas, this extensive, needs surgical drainage, to remove the content of the ear flap and the blood clots.

My pinkie finger was bitten by a very fussy, spoiled dog while I was doing a procedure on him. Nakawala ang ulo sa pagkahawak ng kanyang fur sister kaya ayun, yung daliri ko ang diretsong sinakmal.🤦 I was declared a category 3 dahil dumugo ang bite wound ko. I had antirabies shots (post exposure), 3 doses. Kung tayo man ay nakagat o nakalmot ng aso o pusa ay pumunta na kaagad sa Animal Bite Center na malapit sa inyong lugar. Mag a advice ang doctor at nurses kung anong ituturok sa inyo. Magdala lamang ng philhealth ID upang malibre sa gamot.
Another case of PROPTOSIS in a dog. But this time, 90% of the eye na ang nakalabas at damaged na din ang affected eye kay hindi na maibalik pa. The dog was not neutered and they had an in heat female in the household. Maybe the dog had a dog fight. Nobody knew. So we did an EYEBALL ENUCLEATION procedure (removal of the eyeball) to prevent the spread of infection from the damaged eye. Now with gas anesthesia, mas lesser ang anxiety and higher ang confidence sa pag perform ng surgery bcoz properly monitored ang vital signs ng patient. Surgery is more efficient dahil hindi nagmamadali na baka magising kaagad ang patient. Naka uwi na din agad ang dog after fully recovered from the anesthesia. #PetHealthAwareness

This gorgeous cat, Skunk, is neutered (kapon) today. He has been very busy roaming around lately to look for an in heat female cat. "Omg! Sayang naman yung breed!" This cat was referred to us from other clinic. There was a bone lodged unto its throat and it had not eaten for 1 week. Thank God we were able to manually remove the bone and the cat had returned eating after. All is well.
