Rescuing a stray pet is never about “owning” them.
It’s about giving what we can, comfort, food, water, and love, kahit alam namin na we cannot control them. Some will still choose to go back to the streets, kasi doon sila nasanay. Pero the greatest gift we receive in return is when they come back, because they know they are loved.
Liz was one of them. We don’t know what really happened to her if she was hit by a car or harmed by someone. But what we do know is this: she chose to spend her last breath in front of our clinic and café. And in that moment, kahit masakit at huli na, we felt her trust. That she still wanted to be helped. That she still saw our place as “home.”
This is the struggle and the happiness of caring for strays. Hindi madali. Minsan masakit. But the love and trust they give back even in their final moments reminds us why we do it in the first place. 💔
Run free now, Liz. You’ll always be part of our story, and we’ll carry your memory with us in every stray we continue to love and care for. ✨🌈
