Leptospirosis in dogs is a bacterial infection that spreads through the bloodstream. Dogs can get leptospirosis from puddles or bodies of water that carry urine from infected wildlife. The bacteria infiltrate a dog’s body by burrowing into their skin.

Canine leptospirosis can be a serious, life-threatening disease and transferable to humans as well.

🐾💥Paws on Parade was organized as an entertaining and healthy way to celebrate Rabies Awareness Month and to promote Responsible Pet ownership.It was a successfull activity that helped develop bonding between pets and pet owners.

Councilor Bulayungan Albano and friends initiated the said activity in partnership with MAO Kiangan, R&K accessories, and the L&Z's Animal Care Clinic.

Executive Order No. 84 declared March as Rabies Awareness Month. Rabies is 100% fatal but also 100% preventable.

According to the Department of Health, prevention is key in eliminating the rabies disease.
Health Secretary Francisco T. Duque III hopes to declare the Philippines a rabies-free country by 2030.

🤗Say hello to furbaby‼️LUNA
She was brought to L&Zs Animal Clinic having repeated vomiting, inappetence and soft stool as observed by the owner.

Our resident vet did laboratory examinations and found out that Luna was heavily infested with Protozoans and this can lead to serious consequences if left untreated. She was given appropriate medications and after how many days she was able to recover.

This is why we recommend updated Deworming to your furbabies as an preventative care regime for reducing parasites (internal and external) and improving your pet's health. It is also important to help to prevent transmission of parasites to you and your human family members!

Sarcoptic mange, also called scabies in dogs is caused by the Sarcoptes scabei mite, a highly contagious skin parasite. The mites burrow into the skin and cause severe itching, which can result in the formation of scabs and hair loss. It is a nonseasonal parasite that can be found in dogs of all ages and breeds

Scabies can be passed from animals to humans so pet owners that have close contact with their dogs may develop an itchy rash

Nose bleeding or “epistaxis” can never be normal in dogs or cats. It can turn into severe bleeding and be accompanied by secondary signs of shock.

There are a number of causes resulting to nose bleeding. Remember, the sooner it is diagnosed, the sooner it can be treated.

‼️Meet BOOBA,the amoebiasis survivor ‼️

They were brought in the clinic being lethargic and having a chronic diarrhea with blood and experience vomiting.Upon doing laboratory, it was confirmed that both dogs were suffering from chronic amoebiasis.For days, appropriate treatments and medications were given to them and constant monitoring as well until Booba finally recovers from amoebiasis, unfortunately his brother bamboo did not make it.😥
